The last few years we have been getting two stars with no other offers then we expect them to be big 12 caliber players. This year is the first year I have felt like we have a good class. The last three classes are showing the talent level we have got. Imo

I agree, the recruitng has not been good under Rhoads. The star players the last 4 years have been mostly Chizik recruits. Jake Knott is an exception. I do think there is talent on the offense, but with Messingham calling plays, they will never be able to show it.

I'll give you that on D. Our O looked good at times, but we left it to go back to hermanball right when we got things going. Our D has kept this team in the game for years, time for the O to step up and guess what, they didn't. If we aren't searching for a new OC tomorrow, then this is ****ed. 20 points against FCS. Good for you Messy. Pun intended, our offense is a Mess.

While not totally agreeing...there are some alarming holes. How is it that among our Senior, Junior and Sophomore classes we have one serviceable linebacker right now, and yet we have supposedly 5 running backs?

I agree. We need to just plan on trying to sign 10 juco's a year. I'm so sick of recruiting these guys that are like 2 star players just because they have a good body type. It's never going to work in the Big 12. Our offensive assistants have been worthless too!

Yep, gotta find a way (I have no idea what that is) to get some real talent in here.
We can't develop everyone one.

Could be, but we have some guys who could have put us in a better position to succeed from the start, but they didn't make it into the game until late in the 2nd quarter. By then, we were already on our heals and playing catch up. IMO, that's an evaluation problem.

I'd be happy with top notch FCS players after what I saw tonight. Is UNI winning the recruiting battle against us, too?

Rhoads just mentioned that we need to do a better job of playcalling. Hopefully that's a bit of insight to the meeting he has with the Mess that is our offense.

Anyone watching the game (this is not pointed at you Clonefan94) knows play calling wasn't the problem until panic set in. We did not have the right personnel on the field to start the damn game. No excuses for that.

Dumb thread. Youth, bad coaching and major holes on both lines are what ales us. Time will remedy.

Hope Alton Meeks is ready to play against Iowa. This game loss has turned the Iowa game back into a superbowl. Two weeks to get a new offense.

I wasn't aware that UNI signed a bunch of big 12 caliber players..... A bunch of Iowa boys that neither in-state D1 program wanted just physically **** pounded us.

It's not recruiting. It's player development, coaching, and competent play calling.

Fire Messingham, bring in Sage, let him become QB and offensive coordinator. He not only would be a great play caller, but solid recruiter.

It's not UNI's recruiting, it's our horrible recruiting. Look up how many stars and offers the defensive starters had out of HS.

I mean what could possibly go wrong by filling up classes with 2-star guys that have no other BCS league offers, and in many cases didn't even have a Rivals profile when they committed to ISU?

Well, getting p*ss pounded at home by a FCS team is one that that could go wrong.

Nothing wrong with what Ales us, I'm drinking one now. Now if you want to talk about what Ails us, we've had plenty of time, it still sucks and I'm not just talking about tonight.

When we play Oklahoma and Texas you can say it's recruiting, not tonight. David Johnson was as good if not better than advertised. We missed a lot of tackles and didn't play up to expectations on either line. I think we need to take more shots down field offensively if we want to be a run first team.
