This is cool, but maybe I'm missing something here. Looking purely at statistics, he's a little bigger, little worse shooting Rasir Bolton? Their stats are near identical. I've admittedly never watched a Penn State game, so does he have a specific type of impact on games?

Really nice addition, changes expectations a bit IMO. Great job by the staff this spring.
Agree. Really changes the dynamics of this team. Shored up a big area of need, guard depth! Heck Izaiah might start! Regardless, he will play a lot, be a leader and a big spark on defense.

And we can also be more flexible with a smaller lineup, Izaiah on the wing or 2-3, and a great slasher.

It's the sum of the parts. Rasir is a stud, no doubt. But we've upgraded immensely with all the rest of the newcomers. Brockington when combined with the rest... equals better team all around.

He’s a way better defender, he’s 2 inches taller, he’s a better rebounder, he’s a wing and not a PG.

His impact on games comes from his energy, defense and rebounding. Also Izaiah doesn’t shoot many threes. Which is a good thing.

Sorry I can't help myself. Any new commitment thread won't become complete without this meme.

I never really watched Rasir play, out-of-stater, and I do have CyTv but never wanted to watch the replays. I appreciate what Rasir did for our team. He was the best scorer. Hopefully he will be in a better place at Gonzaga! Wish him well!

I'm hoping Izaiah will be able to replace some, or maybe even all of Rasir's point production, but it will be in a different way. Think attacker/slasher, foul line, short game. And his defense will be worth the exchange for this team. Our team just got a new defensive identity.

Was hoping for more of a “bucket getter”, but he’s got decent scoring and I like the size he brings to the backcourt.

Overall, the roster is looking bigger and a lot more talented than last year, but I’m not sure where the scoring is going to come from.

Brockington and Gabe made the perimeter defense 100% better just by adding them.

In fairness I don't think Rasir was a PG either, but got forced into the role.

If he's a plus defender then that's probably an upgrade regardless. But as for rebounding, they're pretty even there too which surprised me.

Definitely not hating the move, just seemed like kind of a lateral move.

I guess I look at it like this. The scoring next year will come from more than a single person. We've upgraded all around.

Did not know that until now. Cool.

That inspired me to delve further: He was second-leading scorer (20 points) in (15) Coppin State's upset of (2) South Carolina in the '97 NCAA tournament.

Game recap:
And Izaiah's Dad Antoine was 1 of 4 from 3 that game. The rest of Coppin State only had one more 3. South Carolina had four 3's.

Who won the game by scoring more 2-pointers and free throws? Hmm.
