You do realize suites are $40k+ per season? The supply was just filled a couple seasons ago with the end zone club.

I'm guessing no big projects until the conference disaster is figured out.
You're not exactly disproving their point. I don’t think anything really gets done until the conference gets figured out either but if there is a waitlist for suites like has been suggested then we are potentially missing out on big revenue. Especially if you can find the donor money to pay for most of it. 10 additional suites would be $400,000 a year.

The catch is most projects aren't donor funded up front. The donor gets it started and the remainder is bonded.

This is a few months ago I chat with someone who should know but at that time there wasn't a waiting list for a suite. More of a "they've checked into it but not committed" situation.

There is demand for an expanded Jack Trice Club. The endzone club just sold out and had almost 100% renewal.

Depending how things shake out over the next few years the current configuration may be more than plenty.

Hilton should be the next priority. It needs an update badly.

If there is demand at this level, it’s worth considering. But I think before you make that particular investment, you have to wait till the conference bs gets way more figured out and concrete. Also, you have to make decently sure Matt is staying. If he leaves, demand will drop. (I don’t think he is but for sake of the argument.)

Fans need to stop comparing the SEZ to the club and suite areas. The price gap between suites and the south end zones is huge.. I'm sure JP took all of this into consideration when he built the SEZ. Yes, I imagine Iowa State has outpaced demand for suite type seating but I can't see Iowa State filling up a end to end press box with premium seating. I'm not sure the demand is there yet.

JTS looks a bit junior league (compared to the BIG & SEC stadi) with that tiny press box and now major donor suites on that level. I wonder when they'll bowl in the north end zone? And, if we do get in the BIG, do we anticipate that the 2nd level will be removed and replaced with a larger 2nd level which will be a bit higher and come closer to the field with a significantly greater capacity that will get JTS to 75K-80K?
Video screens too small.

We need to expand the press box to sell boxes and premium seating. that where the money is at in today's collage football. Run the press box from endzone to endzone, increase capacity and give people and businesses with money to spend a chance to spend it at JTS.
Before the SEZ I ran a design across JP's desk which not only would have accommodated all the luxury boxes we could ask for, but would have put ISU as one of the most unique stadiums in the nation. It was designed to house donors on those cold late season games, yet always give the impression the stadium was at max capacity by wrapping the skyboxes into the deep corners. It utilized transparent OLED technology to make the aggregate of endzone skybox windows a large screen on the field side. BUT, I was too late. The SEZ plans were too far along.

As it stands, 'today' I'd postulate this approach. Remove the top two floors of the existing press box and cantilever from the existing pylons out with composite materials. You should be able to go out the same distance on both sides, making it 3 times wider. Mirroring that on the other side in the future would then be less expensive and less impactful to the existing structure.

If there's one thing I was always accused of as an Architecture student it was my 'wow' factor. And boy, did I have some doozies. Can't help it.

Got anything you can share from that design you proposed?

I'm thinking most of the people wanting more luxury seating don't want to pony up the cash, but are hoping the company they work for are good enough clients with the people who can afford the suits will pass thru the tickets and they get to go while looking like high rollers without spending a dime.
