Got to say I was impressed with his play. Surprised it took so long to see him on the field. Anybody else agree. The entrie D played great making tackles and going to the ball, but with the struggle we have had on the DL it was nice to see Jacob step up.

I am with you on why hasn't this guy been on the field. He really as a motor, and I don't know of anyone else that has played on the DL that has shown even a hint of what he showed today.

Latt looked really good today and I hope he keeps being this productive the rest of the season. As to where he's been all this time, he came to ISU as a linebacker and made a position change, so he's still a little undersized. But, he does have one heck of a motor. He's going to be somebody to watch for the rest of the year, that's for sure.

I think his "wait" might have had something to do with the penalty he drew earlier in the season--what was it, Unsportsmanlike Conduct? I think the coaching staff wanted him to learn that you have to keep your poise, you can't make a great play one moment, and a bonehead one the next.

Still, great job Jacob!

I was actually a little curious on why he didn't get moved back to LB after Tau'fo'ou went down. After today, I'm seeing why he didn't. He may be the best pass rusher we have.

Did you see that play? I doubt the "penalty" had anything to do with him not starting.

Whatever is fuelin' that motor looked contagious today.
Lattimer accidentally said interruption instead of interception on the radio post-game locker room show (talking about the one McDonough had), but I think I like the term 'interruption' more. Or maybe Lattimer can be the 'Interrupter'

JL had 7 tackles today and 2 sacks. He has 24 tackles, 4 TFL, 3 sacks and 4 QBH on the year. Pat Neal has 25 tackles and started 7 games while JL only started 1.

I'm a big Pat Neal fan, but I will admit that I was wrong on him. JL is a much better player.

Secondary played very well too - amazing the difference it makes when there is a little bit of pressure and there aren't open receivers running free on every play

Sorry for the I told you so, but honestly, imo Lattimer and Maggitt have had sparks of backfield penetration all year like we need it to be, but they just have not seen the field to the extent that I think they should have up till now..... They do rotate in regularly as the whole DL does, but Neal and Parker were getting way more snaps.....

This. It's a lot easier for the secondary to cover someone for 5 seconds than for 10. Our defense will improve greatly if we can start getting consistent pressure on the QB's.
