Love Chris Hassel tweeting this out so the anonymous Hawkeye accounts can rip Pollard. Funny how Hassel has become way more of a Hawkeye homer since leaving WHO and going to ESPN. He fits right in with the quality of that network.

Typical little bro Hawk doosher obsessed with JP.

Doesn't he have anything better to do?

I like Jamie but his ******* off good fans over something stupid really bugs me.

good fans probably shouldn't be ******** either. Kind of like the football fans that post comments on the official Iowa State football facebook account. The football communication people will post the score at the quarter or something like that. And there are usually more than a few Iowa State fans that decide that commenting about how bad they think the football team is is a good idea.

Look, do I think this is some great thing that Jamie does? No. I would prefer that he didn't engage. But overall, I can live with it.

Just when you think the idiocy has reached rock bottom, someone says something more stupid. We should really have a thread for worst posts ever, this would be top 5 for sure. Made me laugh though.

Hmmm. Must be some truth to it to get an attack like that. Thanks.

Pollard is great, he isn't perfect but without question one of the best AD's in the country. People that think otherwise have no idea what they are talking about.

I have no problem with him flipping some people some s**t. After awhile, a guy gets tired of all the idiots emailing and tweeting.

Many I really do miss the days when our previous AD Bruce would just come on CF and set everyone straight. He would of responded 20 times to a thread like this.

Man that truly was the best... Being able to personally interact with Bruce was truly a treat.

Its amazing that Bruce got anything done at all with having to post on 4 cyclone sites constantly. But yeah lets all pretend to be embarrassed about Jamie sending a tweet at some nothing donor.

And what is a good fan exactly? I'm not doing cartwheels over the hire. Does that make me a "bad" fan. Given the bunker mentality that permeates that athletics office, I would say I am in their eyes. But they sure as hell will be willing to cash my check this spring when renewal time comes around.

If you don't toe the line and throw 100% of your support behind everything JP does then apparently you aren't a real fan and he doesn't need you supporting Iowa State. That's basically what I got out of this.

Lol...no. That doesn't work both ways. It is Pollards job to run athletics and ultimately put butts in seats. A fan is choosing to spend their discretionary income on entertainment. They are under no obligation to support a program, and can stop supporting it for whatever reason they want.

I didn't suggest that the fan "couldn't stop supporting it for whatever reason they want". Don't support it then. But why send accusations, threats, etc? Having said that, I agree, it would be nice if both guys could have handled it privately. Good 'ole social media strikes again.

JP should have blasted that guy when that guy was criticizing JP. Not when that guy was praising the hire.

I agree and wonder how blind someone has to be to qualify as a 'good fan.'

It's possible that both guys were being dicks. I've seen it before...like every day.

That said, one is the AD and the other guy is Joe Fan.

I doubt that. Now people are making blanket statements beyond necessary. Its just people and life. You know.....kinda like the same people that I have sat by at some ISU basketball games who ridicule coaches and players for every mistake yet show up in their ISU gear like they're the best fans ever. I've often wanted to say something to them, but know better.

I'm not saying I agree specifically with the way that guy is acting, and I am not part of the customer is always right crowd. I don't think Jamie needs to placate the guy just because he's not excited about the hire. I think he is best just ignoring those things.
