I think you're missing the change in culture going on with social media and ginned up outrage. I guarantee you the second a school makes an inconsistent application of suspension policy in a sex or violence against women case and it looks like it's because of the player's skills, ****'s going down...and it's not the old days that a university can just shut up and ride it out.

So how do you explain Penn State?

Meh big deal this is big time college sports. The self righteous crowd can pound sand. And the next moment ISU does something like this will not be the first time.

It would be the first time a Hoiberg player was arrested without getting a suspension. I wouldn't care if all those idiots hadn't gone off about doing things the right and wrong way.

Doing it the right way. Yeah, whatever. Oh how typical. Arrogant/ignorant and jealous hawk fans call out Hoiberg for recruiting "thugs" while at the same time tout they are "doing it the right way". Yet they recruit a convicted felon and fail to suspend Jok for any games. On top of that their coach has made an an angry scene on the sidelines several times and been thrown out of games.

I don't see a big problem with it. The kid spent 4 days in jail, which is a long time, and pretty embarrassing for both him and the program. Plus he is already a laughing stock for being stupid enough to get caught for the same safety violation on a moped twice, once under a suspended license. If that isn't enough to get his act together, being suspended for two non-conference games is not going to help either.

Just heard Iowa Hawkeyes Peter Jok is not being suspended from any games for DUI. Really?

This must be some sort of Jok.

I'd understand if he was good and you needed him to contribute but it makes no sense with him. I guess his 4 days in jail was his punishment from Fran and the court system

Sadly they are hoping he van be a 10 pt per game guy for them. We'll see how that works out.

Wait wait wait.... you mean to tell me a crime was committed in Iowa City by a UofI athlete and nothing was done by the coaching staff?

A "whopping" two games. Not exactly a big message delivered.

Actually I would argue it could cost both the team and the players quite a bit. We are all ready down McKay, and now we are down Thomas and Nader. We play Georgia State while they are suspended, which aint no walk in the park. Not to mention both Thomas and Nader are at positions with a lot of competition, so they will be sitting for two games while the other players have an opportunity to prove themselves. So, yeah, 2 regular season games is plenty...and its a hell of a lot more than zero.

Don't worry about arguing with twotroll. He roots for KU, who's never been accused of doing things the "right way".
