"it used to be my favorite topic, now it's getting old"

Gee, is that because ISUs future is much safer than it was months ago? He usually does a decent job being politically correct with Cyclone fans but he really let that one slip by. John Walters was correct about some of the local media

And you're not tired of hearing about all of this conference expansion stuff?

This is right on. He compared us to ditch diggers a few weeks ago. Dude is a donkey.

You are right about Miller. Dudes a homer. Seems like he's always rooting against us but I don't see how that comment is showing a displeasure bc our conference is going to survive. I think you're reading too much into that comment. Expansion seemed really exciting but now it's getting really old and for once I agree with Jon.

The ONLY reason omeone likes expansion talk is for the carnage it is going to cause for some or because their team is trying to sneak into a BCS conference. I am really sick of expansion talk, but I never enjoyed it before either.

He's got no personal connection to it, other than he "covers" ISU (yeah right). He's tired of things being somewhat stable since the Big 12 is finally being proactive. Nothing to fill an hour of radio in the middle of the day when he can't spend 20 minutes or so talking about the demise or uncertain future of ISU.

Or maybe it was exciting when Nebraska was coming into the Big 10, the conference he cares about. But now that the G1B is not doing any expansion he suddenly doesn't care.

Still, it reads as a slap in the face to say that on the day WVU is added to the Big XII, to basically insure ISU remains a BCS player, even if he didn't mean it exactly that way.

John Walters is NO Pete Taylor, but I love the way he took the Hawkeye elite media to task when dealing with the ramifications of Iowa losing a BCS AQ school.

I now live in Illinois, but if being the little ***** sister to Iowa (or redheaded stepchild) is all that makes Sqwak fans happy and the state still has the benefit of 2 BCS schools so be it.

All I can say is you can't argue with stupid...

You can wrestle with the pig in the mud, but you'll both get dirty and the pig likes it.

If he just now said that today then I think your logic is correct.

So let me get this straight.
Jon Miller liked to talk about conference realignment when the Big 12's future was in doubt? (that was fun)
But now that things are looking more secure he doesn't. Is that about it? now it's not fun)

Seems obvious to me - he was chortling when it looked like the B12 was blowing up. Nopew, the B12 mnay turnm out to have beetter athletics than B10 every year, especially if they go to 16. Top that off with the possible move of ND OLympic sports to B12 and 12-16 teams, and then he has to ask himself which of the conferences ate the better end of the stick? The B10 is boring right now. Drenard is hurt. Wiscy lost. Iowa finally beat NW. Nebby has lost. Nebby is expected to lose more. OSU is a mess. JoePa is still running PssU.

reading a little too much into things i would say.

Actually no. If ISU's fate was still teetering towards peril he would have a hard-on even if expansion conversations went on for 5 years.

I think for a lot of sports talkers and writers, this isn't what they want to see, the Big XII lives. It seems so many had a hard-on for the demise of the BXII and reported that it was imminent, the latest developments are beginning to chip away at any credibility they had.

I will admit, ti's definitely become somewhat of a tiresome topic, but the ones who made it that way are the media themselves. They were the ones tweeting and blogging about every little thing they heard, weather it had any credibility or not. That and the fact that it looks like no one is willing to turn out the lights in any conference seems to have a lot of the talking heads ******. In fact, just the opposite is happening in that the MWC and CUSA are looking to partner up to elevate a bunch more schools to AQ status as well. I never understood why anyone would think that 4 Conferences, who have it all would be a good thing. Am I the only one who thinks it gets boring when the same teams would always be playing for the NC. The more the Merrier, imo.

Exactly. And I highly doubt that is a coincidence.

Ha. Yeah Miller is a homer. But that's what he is. Dont think he denies it.
Like, when they were discussing Texas and Notre dame and talking about the number of players that each of those schools currently have in the NFL, Miller threw in that Iowa had 39 players in the NFL.
Why does Iowa having 39 have anything to do with that discussion?
Homer.
