I don't really know much about the B10 to be honest. I don't think I've sat down and actually watched a B10 game in years. Just something about the league that I find very bland, not really sure why, just a personal preference.

To each his own. I like a good running game and then play action pass off of the running game myself. I even like the option a lot, but could never get into the shotgun version of it for some reason.

For the most part, it's done to prevent defensive personnel changes. IE: If a 2nd and mid-range play turns into a 3rd and long, it prevents the defense from going to a nickel package as there is little time to substitute.

Agreed though, it is annoying to watch.

But the offense doesn't substitute either, so I'm sure the defensive personnel should be adequate to cover the current offensive players. It just seems like it doesn't work that well. LSU tried it last year and it was miserable to watch. Even their own fans wish they would go back to huddling.

Oh I agree 100% that it's terrible to watch. You just asked for an explanation, and that's the most reasonable one I had to offer. It's even worse if it isn't organized. Then it either turns into a Chinese fire drill or results in time outs wasted.

Different strokes for different folks...
