Well gosh Mittens, allow me to help your wonderment, I've been in pretty much the same place as before Fred was coach...right here. Not sure what that has to do with anything.

Lol...being the aggressor isn't deliberately hip checking or shoulder bumping a guy who is going to dunk the ball.

You are right, Fred likes to see fire...but I don't believe that fire and this foul are the same thing. I've never implied that they aren't learning...I simply thought the foul was BS. That's it. You think Fred thought it was ok?
No, But he didn't pull BDJ. The foul on Monte Morris was bad, and the ref opted on calling it on Monte. This team last year was known for many things, but being clean cut and never doing anything just out of anger was not one of them. Goshhhhh. Gossamer. Maybe you need to have the game watched by censors to take out all the nasty parts, so you will be able to view a completely upright version and those players that you believe are supposed to be representing your moral values will not disappoint you.

Honest question, and I ask this because I was feeling the same way you were, if we had no knowledge of BDJ backstory would you have felt the same way or judge each action or his body language so critically? I came to the conclusion that when you're looking for a certain behavior you're going to find it. Is it there? Sure but it is for everyone to varying degrees. I feel like we should give him the benefit of the doubt and try to view him with a clean slate to avoid our own confirmation bias. His language was no different than others, we just have a negative predisposition towards him.

His past does make him an easy target. It wasn't just the foul though, it was his body language and how the he reacted when other players tried talking to him. Its easy to jump to conclusions when you can't hear the conversation and only read the body language. There were plenty of times last year it looked like Kane was out of line in the way he talked to some of his team mates, but after seeing it a few times i just realized thats just his way of communicating. As much as i didn't like the foul, Im glad Fred didn't sit him down after that, like a lot of coaches would have.

I feel like it was a good call against BDJ. Hopefully we dont see him playing with that attitude a lot this season and if a foul call like that is what it takes for him to shape up and play basketball, then it was an overall positive thing for him and the team.

All this talk about BJD and his attitude is stupid. Clearly the foul was stupid, but I think it was more awkward than it was malicious.

I think some of our returning starters and leaders had a poorer attitude than BJD did during the Maryland game. In particular, I was disappointed in Houge. Houge was more focused on the extra curricular stuff from the start rather than just playing ball. When he does this, I think the team loses focus. BJD was one of the few that played a good game and he looked like he was actually trying to salvage a victory at the end of the game. The body language people say they saw could have been him being ****** that his team was playing like crap and they were going to lose. I did not see a selfish player. I personally was more disappointed in our team leaders than I was BJD.

I didn't ask you if Fred pulled him. You're trying to change the subject. I said I didn't like his foul...I didn't like the timing, his body language and his apparent attitude. Many of you are trying to make more of my comment than what it was. And, if you read, I'm not alone in my thoughts on this foul. Also, how does morality come into this? Do you know what morality is?

I don't deny that the foul was bad. I just say there is no need for us to make a deal out of it. In the heat of a game people make bad decisions. I watched the interview with Niang, and he said people are getting used to just how tough it is out there again. Fred will take care of things, I just think we don't need to worry about players making mistakes. It is the player and Fred's problem. Then you say, what do we talk about? I think we try to make comments that will help our team win. That is the way I approach this board.
