I’ll trust the staff’s judgement on this one. They clearly see something they like here
Starke looks to be about halfway between Jacksonville and Gainesville, so clearly a rural FL area. Perhaps not as many talent evaluators camped in that area or more likely - this kid simply didn't go to a ton of regional camps around the state. I'm guessing he also saved his best football for his senior year which would explain the late interest.
Either way, this video checks out and J Williams looks like a heck of a player.
- starter at both CB and receiver, making plays all over the field
- also a very capable punt returner
- Speed - man does this guy have a burst, blows by FL hs talent which is not something to sneeze at
Depending what this staff has in the young cb's, I like this man to stay on offense as a Cyclone as a pure Deshaunte Jones slot WR.
He may live in Starke, but it looks like he played at Bradford HS. Not sure how much of a difference that makes.
Can anyone confirm if Jontez is the son of former University of Miami and ex-NFL defensive end, Andrew Williams?
