Jesus you people go overboard with the punishment for getting in trouble. It was a damn disorderly conduct ticket, it's not like he killed someone. Run some sprints, get his *** chewed a little, let him pay his fine, get it over with.
Completely agree that if he had killed somebody, a missed trip and 10 game suspension would be justified.

Interesting that you brought up Homan in a thread about drunken basketball players. I remember playing him in intramural softball. He was toasted. He got tagged out on a slide to second. Because he was short of the bag by about 10 yards. And we had to stop the game because it took him another couple minutes to actually get up and off the infield. This kind of stuff has been happening for awhile with athletes at every school, which is why I find it funny when we have posters go after Hawks that arein toruble with the law.

I played intramurals with Hornacek, Lefty Moore, Boskeys, etc, and there was never an incident where anyone was toasted or heavily consumed at all. Some folks just think this is a way of life, and should be accepted. I do not subscribe to the moral degredation theory. You take responsibility for your own actions and should be held accountable. Young Mr Railey appears to have a problem with alcohol consumption. If he is allowed to remain on scholarship(and that is a big if), then he should be required to seek treatment with heavy discipline to follow.

When I was in Ames, I always found it hilarious watching Homan and Vroman out and about together. They'd be hammered drunk, sucking down Camels (mainly Vroman) and then go out and play a very solid game the next day.

There is nothing hilarious about that.

Jordan will get a 3rd strike IMO, but he is on thin ice.

I doubt he will be booted. This seems like something pretty minor to me. i know it's his second issue but I don't see Fred booting him. Now, leaving him home for the trip overseas I would think is a definite possibility or telling him he's redshirting next year as a type of probation is another thing he could do.

Totally agree. Disorderly conduct doesn't seem like something he will be thrown off the team for but I can definitely see a stiffer punishment for a second offense.

The kid's obviously a moron, it doesn't really matter if they bring him back or not, he'll get in trouble again soon enough. You can't fix stupid with wind sprints.

Here nor there
Nice to see that you have gone from calling him a big12 outcast and propping your desired replacement to handing him a 10 game suspension. Nice to see when people can calm down and realize they are irrational.

You must have quoted the wrong post?

Do not sensationalize everything. My earlier post was not what I thought should happen, but what could happen. Big difference. Please do not think I do not stand by what I posted before.

As for what I meant- nowhere did I say or imply he was a Big 12 outcast. With 2 incidents in 4 months, Railey is not as committed as he needs to be. Also, I hardly propped my desired replacement. In fact, I clearly noted taking Gibson was not dependent on Railey's situation and have discussed ISU signing Gibson before JR demonstrated a lack of respect for his teammates.

How does Fred feel about third chances?

Hey man, I call 'em like I see 'em. At 3 in the morning, you stated that he was not a big12 player and even posted a link to a player you would like to see in a ISU uniform. At 8 in the morning, you are happy with a 10 game vacation. You slept on it, and took a step back. I'm proud of you.

We shall find out. If this was something serious then it would be different but disorderly conduct seems very minor. Can someone how serious it is relative to a public intox or a possession or something.

i'm sure his "don't take any crap from anybody" & "his edginess" that we all loved and posted about during the season just might be whats causing him to get arrested. We can't have it both ways with some players. Apparently he is one of those that plays like he lives.

Jared Homan 2.0

But, he is still not even halfway to Homan's arrest numbers, and I don't even remember Homan being suspended for any games.

I would be fine with no summer trip and a 10 game suspension.

For a disorderly conduct? Prepare to be disappointed. At no time in the past few decades has an ISU BB player received a punishment of that level for a disorderly conduct ticket.

Neg rep for posting a mug shot that is on a public website? Maybe Jordan should realize he is a man and not be babied if he is a thousand miles from home representing the university. He should be ashamed of his actions in December to not get in trouble again. Should the register not publish any mug shots of 18+ criminals? If you just want to baby the player as a fan he is just going to continue to feel entitled with no consequences.

I hope everyone upset about the mug shot posting calls the register out if they publish it as well.
Since you posted it as a question the answer is NO. The mugshot comes from a public website, and is public knowledge. I could go on talking about how public it already was, but then it would start to sound like a Ron White show.

Playing softball after drinking = moral degradation? What a load of BS Church Lady. I suggest pulling that stick out of your butt. If someone wants to have a couple beers before a softball game, it says absolutely nothing about their "morals."
