JRailz is a liability when he's on the court. He's slow and out of position at all times. He is not a good defender at all. I hope I'm wrong but my expectations are 0 points 0 rebounds and 5 fouls, so theres room to surprise.

So you are saying he's going to get worse his sophomore year from his freshman year?

The collective IQ of this website is astounding. This post ^ further proves it.

He beat your expectations last year, FYI

5 fouls to give in the post isn't useless. Last year, someone had to do it...

The people who are so down on JR must not have watched much college basketball over the years. Freshman Centers almost always suck. Most big men don't get good until their Junior years, when they have time to grow into their body and hit the weights. He wasn't bad for a freshman last year, give him some time and he could be good down low for us, probably not till his 3rd or 4th year. He could really use a redshirt year.

I watched him in the Capitol City League this summer and came away really disappointed. Not in his ability but in his attitude. He complained about every call the refs made, never participated in team huddles and got into it with Palo for no reason other than Palo was playing hard. I actually hope he doesn't see the court until his attitude has changed.

I heard this as well... I don't expect much from Railey. I don't even think he'll be on the team after this year.

I think Jordan Railey will contribute a lot more than anyone is giving him credit for, he had some nice plays here and there last year, and had a pretty good game against Texas A&M along with others, he did just fine as a freshman in the big 12

Isn't it a tradition to have our center leave? Hamilton, Godfrey.....

Edit: I like everyone on this team and wouldn't mind if they all stayed.

Railey is no where near Homan imho. Homan was a banger who did a lot of dirty work down low. Yes, I know Railey was only a freshman last year, but he just seemed really flat footed.

What he really needs is a redshirt year. Weightroom, getting in better shape, post skills...etc. Just imagine, DG should be a senior this year if he resdhirted as originally planned. We would have a good chance to win the conference with DG still here.

It is way too early to give up on Railey. These big guys take a long time to get their coordination down, and he is too big and has too good a touch around the basket to throw out. How good he is in two or three years time is up to him.

Railey's attitude is a concern, but I think he gets way too much **** on this site.

FACT: Our defense was better when he was in the game last season.

Having someone that big in the middle of the lane can make up for mistakes by the perimeter defenders. He needs to work on his positioning and understanding what is and isn't a foul. He has the athleticism to be a legitimate force in the paint.
