Lifetime shoe deal too. Can't blame him. It's hard to say no to the Oregon cheerleaders
While I agree to some point - it is OREGON - home of NIKE! I remember reading an article about their football program and how they "bought" tradition. Nike's money made them the fashion god of the sports world and it has allowed them to reel in the recruits right and left. I'm sure the Oregon facilities and Nike Campus were too impressive/alluring to turn down.Sucks that he's committed already, but I never read too much into any verbal commitments, they are about as useful as monopoly money is as real currency.
Until they sign on the dotted line, nothing is final.
Crap. I was starting to see him in Cardinal and Gold. Would like some good news on the recruiting trail. There's been a dry spell.
I get the feeling this might be our next commit.
Is there a chance he still visits anyways?
I guess no one wants a free trip to Ames.
Ya, this and countless other examples go to show how hard it is to be a coach in Ames (FB & MBB), trying to compete with top schools and overcome geography, the lack of recruits/population and the overall "middle of cornfields" mentality that most outsiders have of ISU and the state in general.
Obviously losing recruits will happen when you target big time players, but it's depressing nonetheless when you consider how much excitement there was 6 months ago about this class. Obviously if RV chooses us, all will be good, but if we miss on him and Cunningham, we really missed an opportunity to take a step forward in recruiting.
I actually had an initial first thought. I wonder if they "randomly" paired Amardi with him or maybe just inserted some negative recruiting.Karma for Amardi?
