Do you know what they could do? Fine? Suspension? I'm all for using a stick to ensure these guys get the calls right in the future even if it doesn't retroactively change the outcome of any game.

I suspect the B12 probably really doesn't have the money to do the work they need to do to find the best refs. I'm just speculating though. It wouldn't surprise me if they're just happy to fill the schedule with decent refereeing resumes each year.

They can but they won't. This isn't a Big 12 thing, it's a NCAA thing and we all know how much credibility they have right now.

Cm'n, the B12 refs are just not good compared to other conferences. They are missing way too many calls. Looking at the stats they are calling fouls one a minute for cheap junk and then they become spectators the last five minutes.

It might get a little more media attention and may help us if we are on the bubble. I think this team will be far better than their seed in the tourney. We could maybe upset a 3 or 4 seed in the second round I think. I think this team is pretty good and on the edge of being great and can do damage in the tourney. They can beat any team in the nation on any given night. This review also might be in the back of refs in future games...wouldn't want to be the next. So while not changing the record it tells the selection committee we have another win when it comes don to "opinion based" seeding.

Losing to KU twice in OT and playing a fun style of basketball will inevitably endear ISU to ESPN commentators. I don't know what to expect of the committee though. It really depends on how much they've watched, and how they feel about how teams finish close games.

They only have ten teams to cover. How many decent refs do they need?

Essentially, they'll pat us on the head and say "Well, we think that may have been a questionable call" or something even less conclusive.

The loss will remain. The anger will continue. Life will go on, and Kansas will keep getting calls.

Eustachy blew up to end that game and totally overshadowed the horrible Charlie Foxtrot of a call. All anyone remembered after the game was that the Iowa State coach totally lost it and got thrown out of the game.

I believe there were some in the meda that claimed the game was the mythical national championship which does help a little bit, but yes I think anyone in that position would be extremely angry and could hardly contain themselves.

This game probably decided that KU would beat out KSU on tie breakers for the conference season. One call by a crappy ref decided the conference. They better review it. The Mildcats should also be upset.

It's a good question. I don't have an easy answer for it.

I would like to see officials held accountable in some fashion. Maybe have them be part of the post-game press conferences where they can be bombarded by questions from the press about why they officiated the game the way they did. Hopefully at the bare minimum they'll get a verbal smackdown from the Big 12 Supervisor of Officiating.

I wonder if this was the "best" crew the Big 12 could have sent to us, considering it was a Big Monday game on ESPN. Who are the best officials in the Big 12 anyway? Or at least the most competent, I'd settle for that right now.

The protection they get at least needs to end. No accountability to the public, and coaches cant even call them out. One or the other should ether happen or be allowed. Theyre not amateurs, theyre paid, and they should answer for doing their job shittily.

I posted this in another thread but I didn't see it here.

For those tweeting "what good does it do" to review calls. Well, the officials get reviewed and may or may not work future Big 12 games.

I was responding to the question of whether anything was ever said officially about the "blarge" call in that game. My point is, right or wrong, most people concentrated on the end of game tirade and forgot about the ******** officiating from Izzo's T to the end of the game.
