Fran said today that he believed Ku would win the B12, although K-State was best positioned, and ISU had the best talent and would go deepest in the dance. He never mentioned TxT. All of which was rather confusing to me, except to note that he seems to have drifted over to the dark side.
Nah. Fran calls it like he sees it. KU has KSU in AFH so it will be a tough task for KSU to take them out.* Beyond that KU has Tech on the road and the bedlam brothers. They also have Texas in AFH. As much as I don't like it I am concerned that KU will get at least a share of the title as well.

If KSU manages to get over the hump in Lawrence on Monday, I really can't see how Weber doesn't win the title.

*Game is a Big Monday in AFH and Self has a ridiculous record in AFH Big Monday games.

  1. Head to head (or round robin of tied teams if more than 2)
  2. Record against next best teams (record against #3 for example or round robin against teams tied for 3rd)
  3. Keep going down looking for difference in record against next teams in standings.
It is important to note that you ignore tie breakers when looking at records against those next teams. When Baylor and Tech are tied for 3rd and the first place tied teams are trying to break the tie you look at record against both Baylor and Tech together even if Baylor swept Tech and holds the head to head tie breaker between those two.
Interesting that they don't apply this to determine a true champion.

Why give out one trophy when you can give out two? It is better for all of the schools if there is a possibility of more than one champ - especially when there isn't some bogus negative to not naming a single regular season champ like they have created in football.

If you get through this 18 game regular season gauntlet tied at the top they both deserve to celebrate a championship. I don't want the fact that one team lost to the league's #8 team at full strength and the other team lost to #7 without that team's two best players to decide the championship.

I think that ISU picks up one more L either in Austin or Ft Worth. KSU probably has a loss in Lawrence. But, I don't see another L for KSU, which means they win outright unless KU can beat TT in Lubbock. ISU needs to win out to get a share. We'll know a lot more after Saturday and Monday. If KSU can find a way to win in Lawrence, it's over.

I could see KSU losing to Baylor if we win tonight and put Baylor in survivor mode vs. KSU. Also, OU and TCU could be playing for NCAA tournament berths and see their games vs KSU as their ticket in. Same thing for us vs OU and @texas. It is going to be quite the last stretch of league play for all contenders.

Or he has seen this actually happen before.

As Yogi said: It's ain't over till it's over. Plenty of wins and loses left on the docket. But the roadway has gotten pretty muddy for ISU with that loss. Baylor is one tough cookie; someday coach Drew will get his due. Either Adidas or TxT will have 5 loses Sunday morning, guaranteed.
