I would have to think Leech would follow Prohm if he goes to Bama. What other players would leave the program in that situation?

With Anderson and Jackson both playing in the south it'll be interesting if Prohm leaves.

I think LW and THT would be best served by coming back for one more year. But I don't think that'll happen unless Prohm really sells LW hard on being the go-to guy.
Regardless, I'm feeling pretty good about next year. A healthy Solomon Young is going to make a big difference for them defensively and on the boards. Gotta have a guy like that on the floor when you have three or four other guys all looking for their own shot. Now the trick will be figuring out how to find minutes for him, Jacobson, Conditt and Lard (if he sticks around).

Would HAVE to play two bigs (at times, not necessarily all game/every game) in order to get all of them minutes.

Yeah, I don't know. Something to figure out in the non-con part of the schedule, I suppose. It gets considerably clearer if someone leaves, but right now I'm thinking all four will be back. If that's the case it's a real possibility that someone gets stuck on the bench.

[/QUOTE] Lard missed him the most. Lard played better last season when Young was in the lineup with him! I hope we play 2 bigs together next Season!

Leech or Tre Jones are both canidates for that spot. I think I read Tre Jones can be quite the shooter and Leech we all know was a Top 20 kid before injury. If he can get back to that level, he can earn some minutes.
Tre Jackson homie.

Looks like Lindell announced on May 30th last year that he was coming back and Monte announced on April 8th. So who knows when Talen And Lindell will decide this year. I would imagine they both go through workouts for teams and take their time in making their decisions.

It seems to me that lately a guard or forward is a static role. We don't have hybrids like Ejim or Hogue or Burton or Royce. We no longer expect a guard to be a rebounder, it's not what they have worked at or what they want to do. Sure, Wiggs and Babb have gotten some boards, and I respect that, but a lot of those are uncontested. Too often, a guard will leave the defensive side of the court, thinking they will be open for a fast break, while our opponent crashes the offensive boards leaving us numerically and physically mismatched. IMO 4g is not what you strive for as a high major program, it's a temporary fix due to roster imbalances from injuries, transfers, and recruiting misses. It's like putting a spare tire on car to get by until you get to the service station. I hope CSP is able make adjustments over the off season and we lose our playground mentality.

I don't see why having everyone back would result in anything different than this year. You would have many of the same problems:
1) THT vs Wigg trying to be the volume scorer
2) Juggling Jacobsen vs Lard vs Conditt and now also Solo, with only 1 big on the floor
3) Lack of a true point guard (caveat, IDK much about Nixon)
4) Playing slow down with a lineup meant to run
5) Well documented/argued in-game tactics problems

I guess I would expect about the same 20 win, .500 in conference type of season, with a lot of frustrations. That's not terrible, except for the frustration part.

I'm not a "Prohm is terrible, fire him now" guy, but I do think this team was less than the sum of its parts. So having the same parts back...

If everyone is back, I sont see why a grad transfer would even look at this team. Unless it was a true pg and would be an immediate starter. Stash transfer would be the only logical way to go imo

I think the main arguments would be:
1) Don't have Shayok, THT, AND Wigg trying to be the volume scorers
2) Another year experience especially for Haliburton, THT, and Conditt
3) Then possibly some tactical adjustments and/or ability to vary the game plan more with less newcomers on the team

It's far from a given, but I certainly see quite a bit of potential and am excited about running it back with most of the team returning. A disastrous year next year or two more mediocre years and it's probably time to move on from Prohm. But I could also see this year being a learning year for the young guys and the start of something great.
