Man, some of you guys are hard on Ham. I have a feeling he is going to develop well for LSU. I for one think he could have been a good contributor on this team. He just needed more experience and a different person coaching him up.

Would wish hamilton well but how he left and what he said makes him a doucebag. End of story

LSU is averaging around 96 points/game thru three games---so those numbers are pretty pedestrian

I doubt those hack Italian club team are playing much defense.

He was a 7 foot stiff. He had the best coach he could have had for what he was. McD was a bad coach here, but he can coach up post players really well. Hamilton needed better feet/athleticism and a better attitude (he played like he was small). He also couldn't make layups that should have been dunks. I don;t think he would contribute anymore than Railey will. Railey has better athleticism and he plays big (not always good when he fouls out in 5 minutes).

LSU should be much improved over last year. Ralston Turner is the best returning player on the team and he was hurt much of last year...his freshman season. Matt Derenbecker...also a freshman last year is a nice player as well. They have a McDonald's AA in Johnny O'Bryant coming in and Hamilton will give them a much-needed inside presence that they did not have last year.

Oh, by the way, Hamilton is not the only ISU connection on the LSU MBB team...they also have an assistant coach named Lynn Nance...yes, that Lynn Nance!

More like Johnny O'Bryant will have stolen half of Hamilton's minutes by conference play.

Didn't he leave some "laugh" or something on Lucca's facebook status? That was enough for me to wish him well somewhere else besides here. I thought it was possibly his true colors.

When that happened, that was the biggest and silliest overreaction I have ever seen to anything in my life.

When Gmac ran away for Creighton, Staiger posted something making fun of Gmac talking about "Cyclone family" all the time. Hamilton literally posted "Haha" in response to Staiger's comment, which appeared to be spot on considering Gmac had just ran to Creighton.

Then we had dozens of fans claiming Hamilton trashed ISU, was classless, talking crap, etc. And the legend still continues. I can't understand how even the craziest Facebook stalker could find "Haha" to be some huge insult to ISU, wow some people are sensitive. It was nothing.

I agree. Who cares? He was laughing at McD not ISU. The players obviously didn't like him and that is ok with me because I don't like him either.

Hamilton was far better than Railey. He was turning into a really nice player and I have no doubt he will have a good season for LSU. He was raw, but he was a good athlete with nice touch and understanding of defensive positioning. Railey shares some of those traits, but Hamilton was a smarter player (staying out of foul trouble). Ham's post offense was just coming on at the end of the season.

As a season ticket holder for many years I do. He was going to school on my dime, he could have not said anything on Facebook and acted like a grown up.

Nearby
6'11" 260lbs - Still must be eating the peanut butter sandwiches.

He was a heck of a nice kid. Fred really, really tried to get him to stay.

Good luck to Justin (unless he's playing the good guys).

I wonder how many of the same Italian teams the Cyclones will play on their tour.

Man, people are hard on Hamilton; just cause he tweeted something ... He wasn't the only one to leave, far from it. And he really thought he would get an offer from BYU or Utah and it didn't come; that's how he ended up at LSU. You guys are acting like he deliberately lied and ran to LSU cause he wanted to be there. Wrong. He ended up there but it was like his 3rd or 4th choice. I wanted him to stay but he didn't. Wish him well and move on.

Or he earned his free trip on "your dime" by playing hard in games, practice, and putting on good weight and working in the weightroom. I don't think a simple "haha" does anything to make him less deserving of a scholarship. The kid worked hard and played hard on the court-- that's all you can really ask of him.
