Interesting note in the comment's section of the article...

"It's amazing how much having a respectable team can do to your attendance numbers. They have 37 wins during that time period, compared to our 11. Sure, they may not be a bowl team most years but at least they look like they belong in the Big 12 in most games."

Well stated...

That's pretty interesting. But those stats for "attendance" almost have to be "sold" rather than actual butts-in-seats, correct? Because there is no way they're getting that many people in the stadium. Their attendance last year and this year each week appears closer to 7,500 per game at most.

Wonder if there is a way KU could say if you buy a fball season ticket or show up to a game, there is a drawing to get hoops season tix.

And also, looking at the attendance stats, how do schools justify their capacity as over 100%?
We used to do it all the time with our grass areas.

Agreed...we likely will see the same thing (to a lessor extent) this week-end if the weather is really crappy...ISU could sell out, but only 50K show up.

Absolutely agree with this. But 50K is very different than merely 5K when the weather was brilliant in Lawrence last week. Our fan-base is truly amazing.

In game vs TT on Saturday. All that blue? Padded seat backs.

That is a sad looking stadium. Even though it holds a respectable 50,000 people. It does not look like it does with the style of their bleachers. It looks like a slightly larger version of a 4A high school stadium. I know it is much bigger than those, but the appearance from those picture angles does not look like it. I love that JTS has multiple levels and concourses. It just makes it look bigger.

Holy crap...look at the small parking lots...and empty slots...where the heck do you tailgate? Just another reason to love Iowa State...the biggest tailgate in the state.

The houses just across the street are occupied by students (not all). CF's first bus trip down there, I met up with a buddy who went to KU and we went to one of the houses there.

My niece was in the KU marching band the previous 3 seasons, so I went to a number of KU football games the past few years - the pics than MNCYWX displayed are quite accurate for each game I attended (most of them blowouts by the opposing team - with the exception of 2014 & 2016 KU vs ISU). The tailgating sucks - especially when you compare it to ISU. Makes me appreciate that our fans have continued to support the team.
