Looking to try some new places in KC, during the Tourney--Let's Here it.
Figured I would re-start the annual thread
My opinions from some prior trips-

Oklahoma Joe's: Z-Man.....jesus ******...that is all. Plan on an hour wait minimum between 10A-10PM...
Jack Stack: meh, white table cloth and pressed cloth napkin place, food was decent. Seemed too nice for a BBQ joint.Long waits
Blue Koi: Thia Pot sticker restarant. Decent, for the non BBQ eaters. ( on diners-drive inns-dives)
Jazz Louisiana Rest: pretty good gumbo, cajan Fried Oysters.etc. Little bit of a dive place.
Pizza Place next to Kellys: Pretty solid pizza and homemade pizza rolls. Decent price.

What does Everyone have to throw out there.
Go State!!

The Flying Saucer. In the P & L district close to Sprint Center. The bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos are almost literally the best thing I have ever ate on a trip. Huge selection of beer and a great atmosphere with qt 3.14 waitresses

(Of course my favorite vacation meal is eating at Gallaghers Steakhouse at the New York New York Casino in Las Vegas. Their Dry Aged Prime Rib menu item with super strong horseradish is in the upper echelon of EPIC TIER. Nothing in the world comes close. The prime rib is so beautiful you don't want to eat it. When you order the horseradish, get the strong one, not the regular. The strong one will make you tear up like a baby)

Which Jack Stack did you go to? The one I went to didn't seem too nice. I recommend the bread pudding.

Danny Edwards Boulevard BBQ...BBQ Pork sandwich southern style...
Three Little Pigs BBQ in the Crown Center Shopping area..
Fritz's Railroad Restaurant also in the Crown Center Shopping area (this is more kid friendly with trains that deliver food to you table)
Breakfast at the Silver Spoon on Wyandotte across from the D'town Marriott...only open during the week.

If you like Joe's bbq, you all should try Q39 (different type of bbq). Q39 is VERY good. It's not far from Sprint Center. 10 minutes, right by KU Med Center.

If you want something good that takes reservations in P&L, try BRGR. They are really good. You won't be disappointed.

I agree, Jack Stack is okay. I wasn't impressed.

I tried 2 weeks ago to get reservations this weekend at q39 and they had nothing.

Last time I was in KC i ate at Cooper's hawk in the plaza. Solid burgers and maybe the best dessert I've ever had with their peanut butter chocolate skillet cookie.

Try the Wings at The Peanut Downtown. I used to live a block from there. Major dive, but I liked the wings.

I'm also a big fan of Grinders near the Sprint Center. Good beer there, too. The Westside Local is great -- it'd be a nice place to go if your woman is complaining about all the BBQ.
