NFL: KCCI - WHY ??

So the playoff bound Vikings are 0-2 (albeit, was a better game than the KC/OAK game). Their game should have been the one to be seen. But when you have a NFC North divisional game (GB/DET) you're certainly going to get that rather than the Bears playing a non-divisional team.

Sorry, you cater to your market.

There are more KC fans in DSM than anyone else.

The game sucks, but it has the largest fan base.

Everyone keeps throwing around claims about which team has the largest fan base in Iowa, but no one can back it up.

Well, I may not be much better, but I'm at least using my memory from approximately 3 or 4 years ago from the Register actually did a poll on this very question to find out. Does anyone else remember this? As I recall, the results were very close with no team having a commanding lead in central Iowa fanbase. If I had to guess, here's how I recall the rankings:

1)Green Bay
2) Bears or Vikings
3) Bears or Vikings
4) KC

I was surprised KC was the lowest of the midwest teams (it wasn't by much though) but since they were the closest, I expected them to be on top.

Yeah, MN vs Indy should have been the game KCCI picked up, but as someone else pointed out, it was a "makeup game" to the KC fans for getting snubbed in week 1.

I got into this thread late but first off I wanted to see the Chiefs because I am a Chiefs fan and on top of that we got screwed last week when they chose to go with the stupid Jets/Dolphins game just because of Favre. This is also a Chiefs market, if KCCI can get the Chiefs game I want to see it regardless if they go 0-16 this year.

Just like you all would want to see the Cyclones if a local station had the choice to air it. Turns out the Vikes are now 0-2 as well anyways...

As KC continues to lose, this will become less and less of a "Chief's Market". It has been proven over and over again that most sheeple around here pile on the bandwagon of whoever is winning. I fully expect to see EVEN MORE Packer crap around here in the near future, including Aaron Rogers jerseys galore.
