Is that kid....quiet?my kid goes to daycare with a kid named Riot. What the actual **** were the parents thinking? As an adult he's got to change that right?
It cracked me up when Letterkenny came out with those characters. Unfortunately the real life Chastity and Charity didn't have any other siblings/family with interesting names.View attachment 115106
Are they related to the Dyck Family?
My wife had a student with the first name Chinesegirl. She wasn't Asian.I got this idea from an entertaining Reddit thread...
What is the weirdest kid name(s) you have personally witnessed? I'm not talking urban legends (Twins named Lemonjello and Orangejello) or any of Elon Musk's kids' names.
I have a few, all from working in an urban school district in Illinois:
-Pepsi (self-explanatory)
-Hitachi (was the first thing the parents saw when trying to think of a name their VCR brand or something?)
-Sobriety (the mother was addicted for 8 previous kids, but not for this one!)

This is my daily reminder that I have no idea the different thought processes other people go through and how other people think completely different than me which is a good thing. Maverick is honestly becoming one of the more popular boy names Ive heard in rural Iowa so I was very confused why it was mentioned here. The Maverick I know of wasn't born in '03 so no, not the same one.
I haven't seen either topgun movie and have no desire to, so that character (or John McCain) isn't what I think of when I hear "maverick." I think of the trait. And naming a child based on trait (e.g. Charity, Patience, Prudence etc.) is much less common now so that makes it a little odd to me. Plus, I don't view "maverick" as a good thing. Because it means "independent" but I also associate it with being reckless, not thinking things through, and being too independent.
So to my ear, naming your child "Maverick" is like naming your child "Rude" or "Impatient."

It's trendy because of Tom Cruise, and sounds western-y. It's the 2023 version of Austin, Dallas, Houston. This is my daily reminder that I have no idea the different thought processes other people go through and how other people think completely different than me which is a good thing. Stupid parents often have stupid kids.Kid in my daughter's elementary school class was named Arson. Talk about tempting fate...
He asaulted and choked kids in class, broke another kid's arm, ran around stabbing kids and teachers with pencils, and the list goes on. Luckily, no fires though.
