Hes really good. I knew he had a great kicking leg coming in, but i didnt know it was going to be that good as a freshman.

Any chance he fills in for Mahoney as a kicker as well when Mahoney(junior?) grads? I feel his booming leg could be put to use their as well, atleast as a KOS or on long field goals.

I dont know about kirby, he has had some really good kicks along with alot of bad ones. I feel that he doesnt get enough hang time on alot of punts which doesnt give our guys alot of time to get down field

Loved his yardage yesterday but he will have to improve his hang time to become an effective weapon. There were multiple times he out kicked his coverage that resulted in some big plays for Utah.

It is nice to see he has started to figure out how to kick in Trice though.

I don't think he was a placekicker in high school. Although his soccer background would certainly help with the mechanics, field goal kicking isn't something you can master over a short period of time. We're better off going off with someone recruited as a PK.
