KO

I'm not discounting how much he means to our offense. It was quite obvious in the UNI game without KO and Hicks we are horrible. But the guy has killed more drives than I can count in the last couple years. Much like LJ great player but mistakes make them average. I really don't think he ends up in 1st round, he will be mid 2nd and could drop to 3rd.

First round. Barring major injury.

I was wondering the same thing. Does it show toughness, playing through an injury, or weakness, getting hurt every week? A bad ankle on a guy that size has to be extremely painful and slow to heal, since he is continuing to play on it.

He got hurt in fall camp. He was and is hurt. People keep pretending he is going to be ok each week. He is going to be hurt all season.

He has been playing hurt in all the games, and is going to try and go this Saturday. Give the guy a break, he's trying to get an advantage by getting off the ball quickly and trying to compensate for his injured ankle. We really don't know what kind of pain he is really in.

The ability to play hurt probably impresses scouts more than being afraid to go play hurt because it might affect your draft stock.

I realize that 40 years ago football was a little different than it is today but I had an ankle injury that I played on through the whole season. Couldn't play defense because it would get smashed right away and when piling occured on offense it would get hurt all over again just not as bad if I was playing defense. I just played through it and it always felt good before the next game but after it hurt like ####. They way KO gets double teamed and blocked hard ever game, I commend the guy for sucking it up and playing anyway.

You're probably right, but a lot of his draft status will be about his measureables at the combine. On the field so far this year, he's often stood out for the wrong reasons. When I think about a false start call inside the 10, the last number I'm expecting to hear is 72...our all american. If he's going to get the accolades he needs to live up to them.

Does everyone remember how bad the O-lines we used to have under McCarney were? Ill take the occasional penalty for this type of talent that rarely shows up at ISU

EXACTLY !!! I was wondering why the NFL would be interested in him when he can't even run plays in this offense. Talk about self destructing; one of our best players (KO) is one of the worst offenders. I don't know the stats but he has at least 2-3 penalties in every game. Nice precedent to set for the younger players -> NOT.

You are right, you don't know the stats. He is not getting 2-3 penalties every game.

The only time you noticed him was the penalty and the injury. I'm sure you are qualified to evaluate his performance since you were watching him and not the ball throughout the game.

Next man in, in my opinion. The minute you fall in love with a player (or a stripper) he (she) will break your heart as soon as he gets hurt (you run out of twenties).

What was I talking about again?
