Something told me it was only a matter of time before WV got a big win. Glad it was KU. Am I the only one who thinks WV is still going to be a .500 conference team? Their pieces are there & will be a tough out for anyone going forward.

I don’t think KU played that poorly either.
Cant imagine how negative & coach-bashing this board would be if Clones had gave them their first conference win. Having said that... our guys HAVE to bring it today. OKSt can get hot from 3.

KU did only have 6 assists and 18 TO's. That's pretty bad.

The pieces aren't there for WV. The guards are not very good.

It's time to start talking about how KU may not end up in Des Moines. I don't think they have a team that can sustain a 1/2 seed.

I can tell you have never played a sport in your entire life. Or at least on one that was part of a winning team.

How about this: assuming we win later today as expected, do you think any site that uses objective data (e.g., KenPom, Sagarin) will increase their probability of a KU win Monday because they lost today? If anything, it will decrease.

A good number of Fanatics need to take a course on probability. The outcome of this game has essentially no impact on Monday's game. How many times has KU lost at home immediately after a loss on the road? Not many. But that's because they haven't lost many B12 games in the past 15 years, period -- not because of some superstitious BS about previous outcomes.

Me, I am pleased as pink KU lost today. We win today and we're tied for second with them, at a minimum. Our team has two sit-out transfers and two true freshmen starting, so it's not surprising the play has been erratic. The talent is there, though, and I like our chances Monday. We've won in AFH before, remember.
AFH is just another gym. No one has won multiple Big 12 road games there EXCEPT Iowa State. And we have won 4.

How many times has a Bill Self KU team followed a home game in AFH with a loss after a road loss? I’ll hang up and listen.

That happened last year in the non-conference. Lost on the road and came back to lose at home to Arizona State (Dec 10, 2017). Prior to that, Kansas hadn't lost any two games in a row since non-conference in 2013-2014 (both road games). In conference, a home loss has not followed a road loss in the 2010s at all. The only other Kansas losing streak in the 2010s was 3 games in conference in 2012-13, home game followed by two straight on the road.

So, it would be a pretty rare event indeed.

The Jayhawks are pretty tough at home, but every year is a different year. There have been a lot of years when the Cyclones were not particularly good in general, and they were very good in Hilton. This year's Jayhawks do not handle the ball very well. They do not shoot very well from 3. ISU has a pretty good chance, even in Lawrence. Just need to keep their heads in the game and stay aggressive on offense and defense.

I'm guessing we will be about 3 to 4 point dogs going into Monday, hopefully today some of our guys not shooting well can start to get their touch back just in time for Monday night's game!

Yea, right. Whatever. And I suppose I don't need to worry about wearing my lucky sweatshirt, ISU visor backwards and not showering when we lose don't matter either?

Probably. But if you put up resume's so far this year and took the team names off, I think we would 2-3 point favorites. I prefer being 3-4 pt dogs, for now.

What’s phog like? Are they as good at melting down as us
I do not participatr there at all. That place is dominated by a large percentage of the most idiotic end of our fan base spectrum. They have sjouted most of the normal folks off that board so it is 90% loonies.

At least place has such a huge volume of users that the reasonable folks balance out the loonies.

PLEASE, let's just win tonight first. I can see our guys looking ahead to Monday for sure because that seems to be their nature.... only get up for the big games.

Just take care of business tonight and then start worrying about Monday.

Bill Self gets his teams to figure things out every year about at this point in January. This year will be no different. Every year KU picks up a bad loss and everyone thinks this is the year. After 14 times in a row you would think some would have payed attention to history a little better.

Will see, they don't have as tough as nails guy running the point.
They are not as composed on the road has they have been in the past

That said until you drive a stake into their heart, and rip down the shade allowing the sun to hit them, they are still the favorite

That was hard to watch. You really want KU to lose, and then they show a screen-filling shot of Hug and you curb your enthusiasm.
