Daniels is going to Texas

With at least 2 more 5 stars coming in for Baylor over the next 2 years.. its amazing they can't win more than they do.
Well, they still have Drew for a coach. They guy can recruit like crazy, but can't coach himself out of a wet paper bag.

We beat them by 15. Nuff said.

Baylor had Jones, Acy and Dunn last year and weren't that good. They did get a couple of good recruits though. The biggest question will probably be their gaurd play, and of course the biggest question mark is always scott drew's coaching ability.

All of the experts are picking Jones as the top draft pick next year. #1 ranked incoming recruit Isaiah Austin is supposed to be more talented than Jones. I don't know what Drew is doing, but if they play to their talent, they could win the whole thing.

Actually Austin is in next year's class not this years. But this year they signed Quincy Miller and Deuce Bello.

I think Lacey will either choose Alabama or Kansas. I have a hard time seeing him pick Kentucky when they already have Doron Lamb at shooting gaurd who is going to take the majority of minutes. Kentucky's recruiting class is already ridiculous, with Lacey it would definitely be the best recruiting class ever. At least the best on paper.

I don't think anyone can predict who Daniels will choose considering he has changed his mind so many times. But Daniels and his teammate Traylor are announcing at the same time, they both have offers from KU and one of their friends and teammates is already at KU as a preffered walk-on.

Exactly, that should never happen when you have players like Acy, Jones and Dunn on your team. Think of what ISU could have done last year with players like that.

KU will be in the top 3 of the conference again and contending for the title. If thats in big time trouble, than sign me up for that. Self is one helluva coach....at least get through 1/4 of the B12 season before we start saying the team that has won 8 in a row will not be a contender.

Funny...you're a lot more confident at this point than the insiders paid to research this stuff as well as many of their own fanbase. So losing three first round nba picks and two additional starters doesn't set your team back...ok.

Exactly. Self is a proven coach. Also, if we had their roster of highly ranked recruits, with their experience, this board would be talking about a final four.

Well they had five guys drafted in 2008 and came back and went 14-2 and won the B12, so they've had to replace more and been just fine.

look at the late players they have added. Shady dudes who somehow decide late on Kansas. Rush should not have been let on a college campus let alone go to school on one. His brother even offered to pay his tuition to go to Missouri and he still chose KU.

Rush went to Mizzou on scholarship. Not on his brother's dime and not to KU.

They also lost 8 games that year and lost to Baylor in their opening B12 tournament game. And, there were only 3 teams from the B12 ranked that year and they lost to one of them. They beat North Dakota State by 10 in their first NCAA game and drew Dayton in the second round. Michigan State beat them in the third round.

Hardly the type of year Kansas expects and a clear dropoff from their title the year before.

That 2009 Kansas team was expected to barely be in tourny... and got a 3 seed.... and won the Big 12 title. They only beat NDSU by 10 because there was 30k NDSU fans in the Metrodome (I was there). They then dismantled Dayton in the next game and lost a heartbreaker to the eventual national runner-up. Bill Self is a flat-out winner.

I expect KU to be just fine next year based on what I saw from that Kansas team.

I'll just go ahead and say it. If you think that season was anything but a resounding success, given what was lost and the expectations, you're an idiot.

Though Kansas was expected to drop off, there was still some talent in the pipeline with the Morris twins, Cole Aldrich, and Sharon Collins all playing the year before. And don't forget, that Kansas team definitely overachieved. This year it doesn't seem like they have nearly the same confidence in their returning players, and they are still scrambling to get good players. It's Kansas, so you can never be shocked if they win the conference, but one of these years they won't. Also, a "down" year at Kansas is if they finish like 3rd in the conference, while for us that would be clearly exceeding realistic expectations. Having a "down" year is all relative.

If you can't coach, guess you need all of those 4-5 stars, welcome to the vast majority of the NCAA Self.

Go to the final 4 with 3 star guys and then I'll tip my hat to these guys who have and always will get the 4-5 stars. Players go to the school with the reputation and when you have 3,4 5 of them each year you damn well better win championships.
