I'm getting closer to no longer listening to Iowa Everywhere if there is no Cyclone coverage. Chris tries so hard to be "balanced" by discussing the Hawks that he forgets to bring up Iowa State at all. If Murph and Andy aren't going to even mention Iowa State's games, why should I even listen?
Hassel does a decent job of pretending he cares about ISU. Unfortunately if I read the schedule right though, we're losing one day per week in Two Guys in favor of a day of the Tavern Hawks Murph & Andy. edit: misread the schedule sorry

It is weird because Hassel will occasionally want to talk about ISU and Chris will redirect him back to an Iowa topic. Its like Chris is trying to hard to be balanced that he is going too far.

The Murph and Andy pod is the same format as it was on KXNO. It's Hawk radio with a lot of non-sports topics sprinkled in. Unlike radio, you can choose what pod you want to listen to. I listen to 2GNC (2x a week), because it's pure entertainment, Brent and Blum on CF, and began listening to Bigger than 12 yesterday.

Hassel also can't give honest discussion on Iowa State. He always derails any serious discussion into something "quirky" about the game/team/fans/coaches/jerseys. CW usually is well prepped and gives Hassel real discussion about Iowa, but the Iowa offense jokes are so overplayed it doesn't hit. We need CW and Van Winks to be better **** talkers for our side.

I agree with you. It never feels like an honest discussion and the obsession CW has with still talking about Petras and Deacon is way past its point. Why are former Iowa quarterbacks who play for other schools discussed nearly every single pod. Don’t need their fall updates, don’t need their stat lines from their games. Who cares. It’s like the friend who got a laugh one time from a joke and he keeps repeating it hoping to get the same laugh.

Every time I come to this thread makes me happy I haven't listened to 1 second of the KXNO crap since CW left. There isn't a show on that channel I have missed one tiny little bit.
I had the afternoon drive on for about 10 minutes when they were talking about CMC not disclosing injuries. Heather being the big gambler she is, was upset that she didn't know that several offensive linemen were going to be out despite it being seemingly common knowledge.

Then just listed to CF. I mean there's an entire podcast network ran by the same person that is solely dedicated to Iowa State content
CW mentioned this exact point when they were talking about a lack of Iowa State instant reaction show. He literally already does that for CF which he described as a sister business.

It’s pretty clear IE’s goal is to become the “new media” independent version of KXNO. That means they have to market to Iowa fans as well.

Murph and Andy is a tremendous add that will grow their business, so happy for CW in that regard. Probably won’t have time to listen to all 3, but the lead up to CyHawk ~should~ be good.

Ultimately Iowa doesn’t have an equivalent of CF that provides the same quality of content (sucks to suck).

With Bruns and Brend, it’s a nice complement to the CF content we get. Also regularly listen to 2GNC, but I treat it as an entertainment listen rather than hardcore serious sports breakdown.

That's not really the point though. If you want to listen to cyclone talk, listen to cyclone podcasts... like CF. If you want to listen to Hawkeye talk, listen to Hawkeye podcasts.

IE is "supposed" to be some kind of "neutral" site IMO, where you should expect to get equal talk about all state of Iowa sports, etc. But it's not. It's about 80% Hawkeye talk. Even Two Guys, where you have an "ISU fan" in CW (who remembers growing up going to Iowa games in Kinnick as a kid) and a true Iowa fan in Hassel... the talk is mostly about Iowa because CW just seems to enjoy talking Hawkeye stuff more. Hassel will gladly talk ISU, but it's usually in jest and just taking shots at ISU.

Whatever... it's their business... they can do what they want. I listen to Two Guys, but mostly because I just like the banter, and generally I'd say I like it best when they aren't actually talking sports at all.

I tried the new M / A. Confirms why I stopped listening on KXNO. It’s not for me
I would agree but didn't have to listen first. Nothing they talk about interests me and Murph really annoys me. I don't need to elaborate.

You have to love how hilarious Chris is anytime they talk about the Gamecocks. OMG, he's so funny and doesn't do it nearly enough.

People need to really just merge CF and IE in their heads. Not sure on M&A yet but that has more to do with just too many podcasts to listen to.

Overall IE and CF combine to give a great product.
good point. I was just a bit surprised/disappointed that the Iowa State game got little to no mention on the new Murph and Andy podcast. In the past they would go through both games.

I think it’s Hawkeye Everywhere. I have never been able to stand Hassel’s shtick though. I tried some IE stuff but generally not a fan of pods and can only get through the CF ones by former players.

Agreed. Disappointed that there was only a mention of our game Saturday on M&A with no breakdown like they did with Iowa's game, but not going to get the pitchforks out over it. Did not miss the daily Caitlin Clark circle jerk segment of the show, however.

I’m still actively listening to yesterday’s episode. I think that it seems at least so far there are issues of first show back more than anything.
