You did refer to off-field stupidity, which isn't out of bounds as far as I'm concerned, but then calling him an "idiot kid" who thinks that he's a god while also jabbing him for being the 2nd best QB on the team behind a sophomore - "Ouch!" - goes at least one step further.

This isn't an adult NFL professional that you're criticizing (anonymously, I might add). It's not even a college kid that you think you can rip on because you buy the tickets and pay for the cable packages that allow for his scholarship. This is a high school boy that apparently made a stupid mistake, and I bet that if you were his father, you'd be p***** at a poster coming in here and typing what you did in the OP. It is incredibly naive to think our coaches--or any D1 coaches for that matter--don't take calculated gambles. This was just one of them.

I believe the story is that Tribune read this site after his commitment and saw a bunch of posters tearing him down for not having any offers or stars and thought about going elsewhere. Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong.

... It's true. He decommitted because of what he read on this website. Committed again on signing day I believe. We got lucky.
