You did refer to off-field stupidity, which isn't out of bounds as far as I'm concerned, but then calling him an "idiot kid" who thinks that he's a god while also jabbing him for being the 2nd best QB on the team behind a sophomore - "Ouch!" - goes at least one step further.

This isn't an adult NFL professional that you're criticizing (anonymously, I might add). It's not even a college kid that you think you can rip on because you buy the tickets and pay for the cable packages that allow for his scholarship. This is a high school boy that apparently made a stupid mistake, and I bet that if you were his father, you'd be p***** at a poster coming in here and typing what you did in the OP. You can share what you know without lighting up a high schooler anonymously.
Oh please. That's what these boards are all about -- gossip. I'm not saying it's a good thing but to act like we're above that here, come on. If it was another school's recruit, we'd be gleefully crushing the kid.

Seeing Varsity Blues really should be a requirement for registering for this site.

Surprised this info took so long to get on the site. His troubles have been known about for quite sometime.

Would you cut the innuendo crap! Our coaches work their tails off to get these guys and do their own background checks.

Some of you guys almost cost us Nigel Tribune. CPR said at the DM Cyclone outing last week he thinks Tribune could be our best db.

Really? A message board almost cost us a recruit? LOLs

It is incredibly naive to think our coaches--or any D1 coaches for that matter--don't take calculated gambles. This was just one of them.

I believe the story is that Tribune read this site after his commitment and saw a bunch of posters tearing him down for not having any offers or stars and thought about going elsewhere. Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong.

... It's true. He decommitted because of what he read on this website. Committed again on signing day I believe. We got lucky.

Goodness. LOL I'm going to guess Nigel has developed maturity and thicker skin since joining our program.

I wouldn't exactly want to move halfway across the country if I saw my name being bashed on a forum before I even made it to campus. Not exactly a welcome wagon.

If I remember correctly there was some bashing, but it was pretty much like every recruit commitment thread. "LACK OF STARZZZZ AND OFFERZZZZ DONT WANT."

Why would someone bash a kid for not having any stars or offers.
