From what I gather he must have gotten in trouble for lighting a bag of **** on fire on Stine's doorstep or something.
Not to split hairs here, but it appears he was pulled over for speeding and also cited for possesion of drug paraphernalia. Not the same as drugs. Not defending. Still a knucklehead move.
You'd hope that the Soph who is going to be starting in DeLira's absence doesn't grab the reigns and start all season. That said, Mangino had DeLira (among 4 other prospects) throw on campus this summer, so he knows that he has the physical tools to run the offense.
The Brewer kid has a lot of hype, there was a good chance he was going to beat out DD anyway. Doesn't mean DD isn't good, just means the other kid is better. IIRC didn't DD move or change schools?

this soph started as a freshman, DD is new to the program, school etc...no surprise this kid beats him out.
The fail is in the ppl who ignore that (while he didn't do it in the best manner) the OP was spot on. The ppl spouting off are the ones who still bash him even though its been shown he was (semi) right or the ones ignoring the fact that DD had to come in and take his position over from a kid who played as a freshman and is himself, a division 1 qb prospect.
I can't find anything that indicates Charlie Brewer started at QB last year as a freshman. I don't think that's right.
Have we ever signed a QB who didn't start on his high school team?
