Am I expecting too much from him? The interceptions were not even close. So many mistakes.

One has to wonder, why bring Park in if you don't think he is going to play much. If the staff thought Lanning was their guy for a few years, why bother bringing Park in?

That has nothing to do with tonight either, just an observation.

He's not very good.
If your expectations were 450+ yards passing, that would be too much.
If your expectations were to manage the game, than that shouldn't have been too high.

Problem is that he's Ankeny tough, but not very good.

Most coaches like to have a backup QB, and a competition especially their first year as HC.

Automatic demotion of Lanning appears to be ALMOST as much of a slam dunk after that embarrassment as Rhoads firing after the embarrassment of giving away the KSU game last year...

Pretty much why we lost. Key INTs, fumbles that turned into UNI points. Redick.
Don't forget late 2nd quarter safety that
turned into 9 points that along with a fumble that gave them seven andthe interceptions it wasn't pretty much why we lost it was why they lost. Sure the oline stunk but that was to be expected along with the other rookie mistakes. All that would have been overcome. He really shat the bed.

Probably had to stick to with Lanning as the game was within reach until that last interception. I would think the position is wide open though. Lanning did the same things in close games last year. Oklahoma State comes to mind where he threw a terrible interception with a chance to come back. Tonight's last interception was on first down after he had forever in the pocket. Throw it away if you need to. He also hesitates a lot on throws, but I can see why. Maybe Parks is no better and maybe no one would be very good with a make shift line, but we need to try something else if these turn overs continue. Our receivers had the advantage across the board and we at best drew a draw at that position.

Well, Lanning was the back up at the start of last season, so that made him a God in a lot of poster's eyes. The reality has now set in that there was a reason he wasn't named the starter at the beginning of last season. Gonna be a rough year.

I was hoping Park beat him out by now. He isn't good plain and simple, that last throw was bush league ****.
