MWL is a great place to begin your college career. Larch 8th floor was a good time.

Larch 7 was pretty good for 1 semester, COED floors are "interesting" with teenagers in their first few weeks living with no parents, curfews, or rules. With that being said I will push my daughter to live in an all girls dorm/sorority when she goes to college.

My experience at least (Lived in Friley), people who lived in mwl seemed to meet MORE people FASTER. Looked like a fun time, I was jealous.

You think THAT is going to fix things!?!?

And Larch was a blast for me. Some will tell you it sucks, but I choose to believe they didn't bother trying to make it any kind of fun. Your CA will have a lot to do with whether your floor is great or sucks.

I will second that. I was on 8th floor Larch as well for my freshman year. Jack Daniel's painted elevator door. Good times.

Still have good friends I keep in contact with from my freshman year and I can't say that about a lot of the other friendships I made throughout the rest of my college career. You have to live in the dorms to start. If you don't, you will never live there and will flat miss out on a great experience.

Lived on 2nd floor of Larch, which was coed. There were definitely relationships but it was more like having a lot of sisters.

Some of my closest friends to this day are from my days living in Larch. As a matter of fact, I was so close with one of them, I married her!

I lived on an all-male floor on Willow. That's the definition of slummin' it. I've heard Larch is in the middle as far as niceness goes at MWL.

Lived 4th floor Larch my freshman year. Good times. Close to sporting events and Lied, plus they have a brand new dining hall.

Larch is a blast. Like people said, its a good time you'll barely remember. I had a pretty easy going CA so we got away with a lot of stuff. Its the middle of the pack of MWL. Still keep in touch with a lot of people from my floor, and always run into people on the weekends that were in the dorm. You meet a lot of people very quickly it seems like everyone is more socialized more. Keep your door open the first few days will help you meet a lot of people. Oh the fond memories, feels like its been longer then 2 years.

Prepare yourself for a lot of drunken pulls of the fire alarms, especially the first few weeks... and the elevators breaking down during football season.

I work for the DOR and am in and out of every dorm on campus. Obviously, Maple is the nicest. Willow is a little bit nicer than Larch. The rooms in larch aren't the biggest, but the Dens have new furniture, as of last year. Willow and larch are both scheduled to get some facelifting/life cycling done this summer. Not sure what it all includes, assuming new carpet, paint, etc.

I lived in Linden my first two years. And some of the craziest nights I had was when we ventured over to Larch. Though, I had plenty of crazy nights in Linden as well. In short, with the right people surrounding you, it won't really matter where you live. Those first couple of years in college are still a couple of the best of my life. There's nothing else like it. Enjoy...

I loved living in Larch, I lived there with a high school friend on first floor for 4 years, ended up being hall president for a year. Granted, we had 1361 which was one of 2 rooms in the entire building that had its own bathroom, couldn't give that up. We also had one of the best RA's in the building my first few years. Freshman year was 2001, Nick Ford was the RA, some of the best memmories of my life took place there with those guys, wouldn't have traded it for anything.

There were a lot of hot women living there roughly a decade ago. Probably the same now, so its pretty cool to live there.
