I saw a few people speculate Syracuse would be a landing spot for him. He would fit their zone defense well

Lol, are you this dense? Hmm, I cant imagine why there were chemistry issues when the more talented players have to sit on the bench and watch other guys play the first 6 minutes of each half. It would be one thing if Lindell had some behavioral problems, but the kid had an injury, he should have been back in the lineup in early January.

Lindell himself said he took some time to buy into the team concept as the season went on.

His, um, 'defense', at times may have been a reason for not getting more time.

I think CW hit the nail on the head with his assessment, during the podcast after the game, of where Lindell is at right now. I think we saw him mature a lot in the last month or two. I think he has a better understanding of what it takes for him AND his team to be successful.

I would not be shocked if Lindell comes back for one more year and he is a great teammate and player (obviously). But the biggest thing is his understanding that he is not the best player on a bad team any more. He has guys around him that, if he plays off them correctly, can propel his prospective NBA path. And that would be HUGE for this team next year, if that is the case. Big if, I understand. But I saw things that make me optimistic.

Would be nice if THT comes back with the same perspective/approach.

Yeah, for sure. As much as I hate to say it, the chicago ball took over THT's game the second half of the season. When things weren't going well he would try to shoot his way out of it, which is not abnormal for the dudes who play in the CPS league. Hero ball is a thing, and he had too much of it in him this year. I think it's obvious he knows his play dipped towards the end there, and I think he is as upset about it as anyone. But, I do think the dudes he came into ISU with are great teammates to have by your side when you're having issues like that. It's easier to trust them, it's easier to play more free with them. I do think he will take a good step forward with his consistency next year. I just hope he hears the same from coach and the NBA scouts he'll be talking to, to make sure it really hits home with him.

The talent is there, that is for sure. Consistency and basketball presence of mind (IQ) need work. I'm excited to see how he grows.

No basis but I have a strong feeling he's gone.

I feel neither happy nor sad that Cam is transferring. Good luck, I suppose.

Looking forward to Jacobson, George, and Solo getting lots of PT next year.

There are many parallels to be drawn between him and McKay.

That's the scary part about Prohm to me, because I also thought about how similar these situations were. Hoiberg did seem to get the best out of McKay, but Prohm and him just didn't get along. Sadly, I think the same thing happened with Lard.

I'm sure it was neutral between Prohm and Lard. Assuming Solo gets a medical RS this year he and Cam would both have 2 years left. It would have been a logjam at the 5 the next two years with those 2 plus Conditt (Jacobson and Anderson should play the 4). If Prohm thinks Solo can recover and stay healthy he basically had to decide between Solo and Lard, which imo is a very easy decision despite Lard's upside. Having to constantly babysit a guy is a huge distraction for the coaching staff and the team and could cause resentment among the guys that want to be here (which includes all the other bigs named above).

This was an important culture decision and Prohm made the right one. And did I mention that Solomon Young is a bad ass? The biggest thing we lacked this year was a bad ass.

NBA drafts on potential, correct?

It's not for me to measure whether he's ready but to me it seems like he'd take the jump regardless.
That's certainly fair, I had that thought about 2 months ago, but not as much now. Agree to disagree, but I wouldn't be shocked if he did try to make the jump. however I feel there will be enough feed back that he can improve his stock with coming back another year.

McKay was great at the end of his senior year. Maybe some of the best all around basketball he played. Also he came back for the scrimmage/family night this year and Prohm had no issue with recognizing him being there and he didn't seem to mind.

Rough Sweet 16 game but everyone outside of Niang did the same.

Good relationships aren't always rosy.
