I would think the night before sholdn’t be allowed. Others have been making it sound like they can’t during the season at all though. Everything with life is nuanced so we probably won’t ever know enough to properly judge.I have no clue what the rules are but being at a bar the night before a game doesn't seem to me like winning is goal #1. I should add that they were drinking.
yes good luck to cam , but he was a cancer on this team, i really wanted him to be as good as he canMy guess is that Cam struggles at his next stop too. This isn't a CSP problem or an Iowa State problem. Sometimes guys are more of a distraction than they are worth. We all knew he was a risk when he came to Iowa State. Time to let Conditt work his butt off and grow into that potential. Addition by subtraction in my eyes.
See this post right before yours. I won’t pretend to know all the answers or even what the current rules are.
I’ll just say this. Part of my frustration comes from there seems to be unclear standards. I’m certain they are much more clear to those associated with the team but as a fan it is frustrating to not understand what the problem is. Some of that is probably just not our business but it all comes down to do fans have faith the program is running correctly.

This kind of stuff is what has made Steve's tenure in Ames less enjoyable. He does not explain much to the fans but seems to always have someone in a rules violation or in some kind of dog house. The off the court things start effecting our substitutions an play patterns which make a frustrating on the court product at times. We didn't seem to have these things fester quite so much in the past.
Hold the guys accountable and all but also know they very young men that are finding their way through life. All the while probably trying to enjoy themselves during the process. Every path is different we can't expect everyone to be on the same one at all times.
Lard would have been 21 if it was the one game suspension. I’ve long held the belief that Lard was just mishandled. I can’t figure out which way though. If he was on his 3rd strike or more that would show to much leniency. If someone isn’t getting it at that point it is time for a fresh start for both sides. With that said I think there is a decent chance some of the rules that Prohm has are to strict. Say we play Monday and Saturday. There is no reason that players who are 21 shouldn’t be able to go to a bar on Tuesday.
We are a state school with a major program. We don’t need the morality police creating rules. I’m by no means defending Lard because he would have known the rules and should have followed them. He would deserve the punishment for that aspect. That said the rule maybe needs to be addressed. If there is a rule of no bars during the season I think that is a problem.
Personally I think Prohm falls into the trap of having strict rules and not properly enforcing them. Prohms job is to make better men too but not at the expense of the team. If someone is being a problem cut them loose and direct them to someone who can help them get their life together.
You're related to Matt Abdelmassih?I know for a fact that players have been at bars the night before a game. Lets just say that a certain relative of mine, by blood, was very disappointed to see that firsthand.
Well better let Campbell know, he doesn’t allow players into the bars once fall ball starts.
Of course we didn't see it before. It was basically a free-for-all under Fred and who cared when McDermott was here?
I don't understand this. You're related to Matt Abdelmassih?
What's wrong with a free-for-all? Isn't that what every other college student is doing? Isn't that how real life works?

That’s SO different.
