I think Izzo is a little lighter and finds more of a balance or limit.

Larry might have just been more obsessive to the point of not finding that balance.

… where does Fennelly fit in …. Closer to Larry.

If I remember right, Tinsley loved Eustachy and vice versa. I think Jamaal was a tough street kid who liked Larry’s demeanor. My DC in high school football in the 80s was a bastard and I loved it. I enjoyed having my manhood challenged and proving him wrong. But I know it’s not for everyone and today it’s probably not for anyone.
And to think it all started with Tinsley telling Eustachy that he didn't come here on a f***ing track scholarship during an early practice that was all conditioning.

Not exactly sure.
I definitely think Larry was more extreme but Izzo has had a lot of these moments:

I know they say our filters wear out as we get older. Thinking about older coaches, I seen it a lot. Starting getting irate, walking onto the court and field, even in HS, and blaming players for their poor decisions.

Yeah, because I haven't gotten more crotchety in my old age...

One of the worst seeding jobs in NCAA history. A clear #1 that should have been the 2nd number one overall behind MSU. Instead we get a 2nd seed, get thrown in MSU's bracket, when the games are in their own backyard. But they did us a "favor" putting us so close to home.

From the seeding to the officiating, the entire tournament treatment of ISU was a sham. Only time I will cite refereeing as the biggest reason for a lose. The disparity in calls between Tinsley (and the rest of our guards) vs Cleeves was disgusting. Should have been the National Final.

I feel like lately they'd have looked more at "how are they playing lately" than they did back then.

You won't find a team that was playing better at end of year vs starting year as that ISU team.

Started out losing to Drake. Ended the year just stomping absolutely everybody in the Big 12.
