Lasik vision correction

I wouldn't take my enemy into Wolfe. They miss diagnosed me and fortunately I went and got a second opinion. I found out that I was a terrible candidate for Lasik and ended up going a better route for me. BTW, my Dr. was one of the main Dr's not some Newby. I also had a friend get staph infection from one of their offices. I know they are popular, however, I suggest getting a second opinion no matter what you do...do some research as I am glad I did. Also, people talking about best price, ignore....its your fricking eyes.

I’m so jealous of the people that had lasik and everything went well.

I had Lasik about 18 years ago. Best...money....ever....spent. My vision was 20/200 before the surgery. After so many years of glasses and contact lenses, having 20/20 vision is something I still appreciate on a regular basis.

The first time I went for Lasik was several years prior to that, and they turned me away because the combination of a large pupil and thin corneas would require them to have to remove more tissue. They were worried about not having enough remaining tissue to make a correction. They said they would recommend PRK or wo wait a while.

Several years later the technology had advanced enough that they felt like Lasik was doable. However, I was still borderline so they actually did give me a choice between Lasik and PRK. I went for the Lasik and have had perfect vision ever since. No corrections needed, no problems with halos when driving at night. Probably unrelated, but at 54 I'm still not close to needing reading glasses.

My LASIK procedure held up for 20 years. So worth it. After 20 great years, I realized I needed glasses again to see distances. I did a PRK then and kind of wish I hadn’t. The benefits lasted only a few more years, and I’ve had issues with dryness and irritation since. I‘m your age and have had to accept that my days of perfect vision are over. Still a huge fan of lasik, though!

I had lasik 20 years ago. Being 51 doesn’t help either.

I am having a consult with Wolfe Eye Clinic on Monday for Lasik. I have heard some people have Lasik and some have PRK instead depending on the thickness of the cornea. Has anyone had any experience with PRK or Lasik that they are willing to share? I am finally able to do it but if I have to do PRK the recovery time concerns me a bit.

Wolfe clinic trust them with what they recommend to you.

Had lasik and it was life changing. Joining the farm bureau gave me 15% off. Check into that if you go with Wolfe, that’s who I used.

Had lasik 9 years ago at TLC in Madison. agree that it is the best money I’ve ever spent! By the next morning I was better than 20/20 and eyes felt fine. I used eye drops for about the the first year- gradually used them less and less and didn’t need them anymore.

Had Lasik for astigmatism at Wolfe in WDM in 2019. Initially my left eye didn't get fully corrected so I had to go back in a week later or so and get it touched up. After that, it's been great. The only issue I have is sensitivity to sunlight. I've always been sensitive to light, but it's definitely worse after.

Just curious. I wear reading glasses and my eye site has got worse over the last couple years for reading. I can still see long distance very well. Is Lasik for reading or for long distance? I honestly don't know.

Had ASA correction 16 years ago. Went from 20-200 to 20-15. Started wearing glasses a year ago because I was used to better than 20-20. Can still read the 20-20 line without glasses. Highly recommend Dr. Ejaz Hussain at Associated Ophthalmologists in Des Moines. Great guy and been on the list of Top Docs in Des Moines for years.

If you’re over 50 you will need reading glasses at some point. I got Lasik after 50 and knew to expect needing readers. Still the best money I ever spent for my eyes and I don’t need the readers all the time.
