Does Lazard redshirt or see significant playing time this year?

Unless the coaches feel confident that they have a QB who can get him the ball, I'd redshirt him. Not that he's not capable of playing right away, but I wouldn't want to burn a year of his eligibility when A) It's going to be a long year either way, and B) I don't have a guy who can reliably get him the ball.

I wonder if the drops would reduce if they named a starter at qb and the starting wr could become more comfortable with just 1 qb.
Just a thought.

WHile I don't think he will redshirt I also don't think he will start. I do think he will play but the expectations for him are too high for him coming in as a frosh. His star ranking is based on his potential. not what he is going to do within a couple months of setting foot on campus. He doesn't give us anything that Bundrage and Montgomery don't and isn't the type of player that would play the same position as some of the other guys.

it is abundantly obvious that we, as a fan base, are not used to having a recruit of Lazard's calibre.

I would like to point out that, at one point, Iowa State had a coach who didn't play Troy Davis as a freshman. That man now lives in a plexiglass box inside the football offices, for small children and guests to throw vegetables and dead rodents at.

Lazard has great hands and doesn't drop the ball. He might actually start given that alone. I think CPR and MM have zero tolerance anymore for wr's who continue to drop balls they should catch. Bundrage dropped a couple right to him in spring game although a couple where thrown prob way to hard and a little high. Lazard is a huge target and like others have said runs great routes. At the least I can see him as a true red zone threat split out with Bibbs and QB and maybe quan west at the other TE. That's like (4) targets that are all at least 6'4.

Quick, someone tell John Sears to ask Lazard if he wants to redshirt 15 different ways. He'll get to the bottom of this.

First of all, Lazard has stated before that he would red-shirt if that is what they needed out of him. Second of all, hahahahahaha. 6'5''? Runs good routes? Is already a big kid? Has been training with two former collegiate and Olympic athletes his entire life? I think we know the answer to this question.

You could not possibly contribute less to this message board. Unless you know Lazard personally, I have trouble believing you know whether or not he'd ever transfer.

I have trouble believing someone who can't even spell the word play.
