Stormin they win though

So our facilities are not really head and shoulders above everyone else??? That's right I just saw the link talking about K-State's new improvements to their stadium........and have been reading about Baylor's new stadium.......and all the improvements that T Boone Pickens has paid for Okie State and their recently new stadium.......etc., etc., etc.

Read all about the improvements in the Big 12 here.

I think the AD is most concerned with having a full stadium. If the fans keep coming along with the losses, he stays. If the fans quit coming due to losses, Rhoads will be let go. Or, maybe he turns it around and there is no decision to make.

I believe this is pretty close to the real situation. Imagine making a coaching change that costs $$ for buyout and ends up with even more ? failure and then ALSO results in a lack of fans. Pollard would probably rather keep having record sales with more patience (while $$ still comes in) than risk it all for the 'chance' of a new coach succeeding.

Also - staying patient and not disrupting things still gives him a 'chance' of CPR succeeding as well.

Still sucks all around. As fans, we're dying to be able to have something really special happen. It would have been (or would be) great to have it be with CPR.

All you need to do is look at the headset/radio guy next to CPR. Rhoads is so inept that he can't even put the headset on his ******* hip. What a waste of time and energy for that poor graduate assistant that spends the entire game day carrying around a ******* headset.

It's not a grad assistant...try a student manager :skeptical:

Terrible punt coverage cost us the Iowa game. That said...

I'm tired of watching this horrible offense year after year. We are never going to have the depth to leave our defense on the field the entire second half of games, so the offense MUST produce.

I am dumbfounded that SBR is still starting for us. We need a QB that can actually stretch the field with his arm since our run game is non-existent, and tall enough to see/throw over the linemen for the short passing game to be effective.

Putting points on the scoreboard will keep us in games and keep ***** in the the stadium even if we aren't winning.

I disagree with your opener about punt coverage. What cost the game was the o-line turned into wet paper bags during halftime. They were effective in first half, and invisible in the 2nd. That was a big part but not only part of the offense being absolutely impotent. I definitely agree with you on that.

Jack will not be sold out for those late seasons games if this keeps up. No way at all.

Sacks don't mean crap when you get one and then turn around and give up 50 yard runs to a guy that runs like my 58 year old dad on the next play.

Your dad must be a hell of a runner. Does he have any eligibility left? If he has an arm like CJ also count me in.

I don't care if or when Rhoads is fired. I have my preferences but what I can not tolerate is not doing absolutely everything and anything to change our fate. Go for it on 4th and inches. Run trick plays, change the QB, try a new formation. Just do something other than what we've been doing while spinning our wheels for 3 years. Another big thing is we don't seem to ever play desperately. Our staff should be desperate, right?
Right. I know we are.

If he doesn't get 5, I think it would be time to part ways. Unfortunately I think that he would have to win 3 for JP to seriously consider firing him this year *sigh*

I sincerely doubt CPR will be let go even if he goes 1-11. Just my gut feeling. Between the buyout and JPs relationship with him, I see him being here one more year regardless of this seasons results.

Who else are we going to beat except maybe Kansas? And.....we won't beat Kansas playing offense like we have the last 2 games.

I'll get you caught up, every game in conference is what the sunshine pumpers like to call "winnable" whatever that means. If every game on the schedule isn't "winnable" even to the sunshine pumpers what does that say about this coaching staff?

There is no serious discussion other than relieving CPR of duties. I wanted him to succeed, but he does not have the skill and vision to do it.

And...firing CPR and hiring a new coach you can kiss the 2016 class goodbye along with what will be more than usual attrition. So you can prob not count on even coming close to a winning season until prob 2018.

We aren't coming close to winning seasons now. Why not take a chance?

The same thing was said about the JP/Otz relationship. I guess I don't see why so many people on here don't think it is possible for a boss and employee to have a friendship without it affecting the business side of things. It happens everyday in the real world business so why can't it exist in the ISU AD.

Of course it happens in the real world, but we are talking specifically about ISU and JP. Outside of forcing DMac out the door, what exactly has he done to suggest he is capable of making those decisions? Trying to lock down under performing GMac? Standing by Rhoads after 2 horse **** seasons(years 5 and 6 no less)? I won't say he CAN'T do it, but nothing to me suggests he WOULD do it at the end of this season if it were warranted. Honestly, I like JP, I really do. This is just a gut feeling on my part from the sample of scenarios he has had in front of him.

Remember when JP was going to give McDermott another chance? Remember the whole transfer press conference he had? JP has yet to fire any of his coaches he's hired, and i really don't see that changing anytime soon, it will essentially admit, yeah I really botched this hire, something I just can't see JP doing.
