I didn't come on here saying matter-of-factly that ISU would be better on defense. On the other hand you came on and said that they say that every year and there is no way it will be better. You even went so far as to say Prohm will never make the ISU team better at defense. I was arguing your total dismissal of the possibility. I haven't seen anyone suggesting that the team will become a defensive juggernaut, but marginal defensive improvement could make a big difference and wouldn't be miraculous to attain.

No I didn't say that, I said that he will never focus on defense.

I'll see you all in the game threads posting "I thought we were going to be more focused on defense this year!" "Why aren't we pressing I thought we were going to press?!?!?!" every time we give up a late shot clock basket or leave a guy wide open for three or we get behind by 5 points. Can't wait.
You're probably really fun to hang out with.

And even after the team is fully Prohmified there won't be much difference because Prohm isn't a defensive coach that plays a defensive-centric system. It's just not who we are. I don't know why so many people want to be something we're not.
Regardless of your reasoning why, you still said that Prohm will essentially never improve ISU's defense. You don't have to be a defensive guru to improve ISU's defense from what it has been.

Says every fan, every year, with absolutely nothing but canned coaches responses that are "what do you think they are going to say" quotes. Who's this defensive coach that they've brought in to provide this emphasis? This is still pretty much Hoiball: Monte, MT, Naz, Babb, DJ, Burton are all pretty much carry overs from the Fred/TJ school.

And even after the team is fully Prohmified there won't be much difference because Prohm isn't a defensive coach that plays a defensive-centric system. It's just not who we are. I don't know why so many people want to be something we're not.

I think it's reasonable to go from the worst team in the league on D to 8th or 9th. Sue me.

I said there won't be much difference. The reasoning is that we're not going to recruit to defense, and we're not going to spend a bunch of the off-season on defense, and we're not going to run some gimmick defense.

You don't have to specifically recruit for defense nor do you have to run some gimmick defense to get better. Reports are that they have spent a bunch of time in the off season on defense and they have thrown wrinkles into their defense. You don't have to make a ton of changes to make an appreciable difference on the defensive end of the floor.

Since we regain our previous backcourt defensive "stopper" in Naz, have developed a new (and possibly better) backcourt defensive "stopper" in Matt and have a presumably higher energy with less minutes Monte, the backcourt defense should undoubtedly be better.

In the front court, that all remains to be seen. McKay lacked focus in many game while being very good in others. Georges was really underrated against true post guys but struggled with ultra-athletic posts (particularly because he couldn't foul). So overall, we could certainly improve there too.
