Going to be a lot of good matchups, and some good challenges for the team. Below are the ranked wrestlers (according to Flo) for ASU and Mizzou:

ASU
125: Brandon Courtney- 5th
133: Michael McGee- 12th
141: Pete Lipari- 23rd
149: NR
157: Jacori Teemer- 10th
165: Anthony Valencia- 5th
174: NR
184: NR
197: Kordell Norfleet- 8th
Hwt: NR, but Schultz was the 2nd overall recruit in 2019

Mizzou
125: Connor Brown- 24th
133: Matt Schmitt- 14th
141: Allan Hart- 14th
149: Brock Mauller- 3rd
157: Jarrett Jacques- 13th
165: Peyton Mocco- 19th (Keegan O'Toole wrestled here last weekend. Bet they bump Mocco up and wrestle O'Toole at 165)
174: NR but Mocco is solid
184: Jeremiah Kent- 23rd
197: NR yet, but is Zach Elam's brother and was pretty highly ranked
Hwt: Zach Elam- 8th

Will be a very good measuring stick to see where guys like Redding and Yonger are. Also excited to see how Robinson competes with Mauller, Carr and Teemer have had several close matches in the past, Gremmel will have 2 tough matches against Elam and Schultz. Sunday can't come soon enough!

This is gonna be really interesting. Sucks not to have Colbray at full strength. These both might come down to bonus points. I feel like we match up much better with Mizzou.

I know they've said Degen is expected to be ready end of the month-ish, but has there been much info out about Colbray?

Also, I'll be very curious to hear about any Coleman v. Bastida wrestle-offs. It was good to see Marcus was getting back into the action Sunday.

Rocky Elam will be a great test for Yonger. He was 5th and senior nationals and looked pretty tough. Can’t wait to see that match.

Hello friends, yes the above pressser is what we got out of Coach.

What I assume is happening if we see him at all this weekend it'll be one b match. We talk to the team again Thursday and can definitely ask again to see what the wrestle off situation is like for the room.

Coleman has to wrestle Fisher to be number 2 before he can wrestle off against Bastida for a starting position. But, Marcus seems to be full go! He looked very good on Sunday. I definitely like him at 197 a lot better.

Coach did say Colbray was doing a little bit better than Degen. If you want to use that as a measuring stick to where they're at. Will ask about how Degen's week of practice went on Thursday!

Yikes, this sounds like a bad thing for Degen IMO.

I didn't really get that impression when listening to Dresser. Sounds more like they're being cautious.

Since NCAA seeding is going to be based a lot on past accolades, being a 2x AA will get him a pretty solid seed regardless of how many matches he wrestles this season.

I could certainly be wrong, but I took Dresser's comment as more of being optimistic with Colbray. Sounds like he could be back pretty soon. Battani has been a pleasant surprise, but Colbray would be really nice to have this weekend. Or at least before Oklahoma State.

Coach said you won't see Colbray in the starting line up this weekend. He won't even wrestle-off for it yet because he doesn't want to rush back too soon.

Re: Tate Battani - I'm probably in the minority here but I've been super impressed with him. I'm wanting to see more especially against D1 competition. I've seen enough of Colbray to think I know what we have with him. Tate has been very aggressive with strong offensive on his feet and yet appears solid in all positions. I've been very impressed to say the least. I'm hoping this is a result of huge improvements and not lessor competition. However I'm leery that the competition has been making him look better than he really is. The same can be said for our other Freshman but all of the others are what I'd consider to be top level recruits. I love a good underdog story ala Drew Foster.

I've been impressed by Battani as well. Aggressive, good gas tank. He's a RSSO, so he's got some decent experience from wresting in opens and such. I'll be excited to see what he does with some stiffer competition this weekend and how his wrestle-off with Colbray goes when the time comes.

Colbray seemed to have bought-in to the staff's vision and improved leaps going into the post-season so I'm hoping this injury doesn't set him back at all and he can be an All-American contender again.
