I posted this in the ticket exchange but looking for another 2 tickets for Sunday for some friends. Can get upper deck ones now on Ticketmaster but wanted to see if anyone has a set for the lower that isn’t going to be able to attend this Sunday.

Re: Tate Battani - I'm probably in the minority here but I've been super impressed with him. I'm wanting to see more especially against D1 competition. I've seen enough of Colbray to think I know what we have with him. Tate has been very aggressive with strong offensive on his feet and yet appears solid in all positions. I've been very impressed to say the least. I'm hoping this is a result of huge improvements and not lessor competition. However I'm leery that the competition has been making him look better than he really is. The same can be said for our other Freshman but all of the others are what I'd consider to be top level recruits. I love a good underdog story ala Drew Foster.
Per Track, Battani was 9-1 last year with his only loss to Broderson, 7-3. Had a solid first year as well. I'm also interested to see how he performs against D1 competition!

I’m considering trying to find some too. I picked my season tickets for okie st instead and am almost regretting it but I need to be there if we take down the Cowboys

All the guys got some nice warm up matches the last couple of weeks. I'm very interested to see how they'll fare against some stout competition. Should be solid tests at every single weight class.
If the vets do what they do, and the young guys continue to surprise us in a few spots, we should win both of these. But the margin is not large.

125- Will be interesting to see what they do here. If Mackall beats Courtney, he will potentially get to top 5 in some rankings. Again, great news for the future that Kysen is already challenging Mackall for the starting spot as a true Frosh.

133- Great chance for Redding to get his name in the rankings next week. If he can find a way to split the matches, that'd be a great weekend.

141- Ian just needs to take care of business. Lipari did take Demas to OT, but I am hoping for 2 majors from Ian.

149- Interesting that Mizzou lists Mauller as an "OR" for Sunday. I really hope they wrestle Mauller as I want to see how Cam stacks up with a top 5 guy at 149. I don't expect him to win, but would be a fun match to watch.

157- This weekend will be a good challenge for David. He and Teemer have had several close matches in the past, and Mizzou lists O'Toole as an "OR" at 157 for Sunday. O'Toole was a super recruit and would be a very good challenge for David. David should win both, but will be fun to watch regardless.

165- Just want to keep seeing fight here, whether it is Stotts or Judge.

174- Munoz from ASU is a stud and will be a good challenge for Broderson. Mizzou dual depends if they bump Mocco up or not, but a 2-0 weekend would continue to build confidence that Broderson can be a R12 type guy at 174 this year.

184- Good to see Sammy getting back healthy and listed as an option here, but I am guessing we see Battani get both matches Sunday. Will be a good gauge to see where Battani is at against some solid D1 competition.

197- Good to see Marcus getting back healthy again, but I am expecting Yonger to wrestle both varsity matches this weekend. Will be a very good measuring stick to see if he is already a potential top 10 wrestler at 197.

Hwt- Cohlton Schultz was a top 5 overall recruit out of high school and will be a tough match for Gannon, and Zach Elam is ranked right behind Gannon right now in most rankings. If Gannon can go 2-0, that would solidify him as a legitimate AA contender.

This really is a "prove-it" weekend for the team. If they can go 2-0 and win a majority of the close matches, I think that starts to solidify this team as a legit threat to being a top 5 team at NCAAs.

I didn’t realize they had Sammy listed as an “or”. That might be Dresser trying to screw with other coaches heads but regardless that’s a great sign.

Really excited to see how Gannon does. Both duals could potentially come down to his match. Gannon seems to thrive there (his swagger against Isley last year in the UNI dual was awesome to watch).

Be a nice plus team wise to get some bonus points at 41 and 57. Very capable.

I’m really anxious to see those young kids at 33 49 and 74. They show up strong which they are capable of, we should win these.

IMO Mizzou is slightly favored with a 4-5 tossup/slight lean matches.

IDK if anyone mentioned UNI coming. Awesome to see how we'll stack up against Mizzou before wrestling.

Five duals plus probably 14-17 extra matches (including a few ISU/UNI bouts).

That's getting a pretty good value for the ticket.

How are they going to wrestled extra matches with UNI wrestling each team on mat2?

Mat 2 is open at 6:00 (while MU/ASU is on Mat 1) for extra matches, plus they'll probably try to get some done at the tail end of each dual if there's time.

Did anyone wonder why we let UNI come wrestle in our building and get extra matches this year? Seems like we did them an unnecessary solid. Maybe both Mizzou and ASU wouldn’t of come if they didn’t have a third dual? I know we are going up to Cedar Falls to wrestle OU in their building but it’s a conference dual. Not a big deal but just thought it was curious.

Because everyone is trying to minimize dates and travel this season. No reason to have ASU and MU go back and forth between Ames and Cedar Falls on a Friday/Sunday when the whole thing can be done in one location on one day.

I'm just spit balling here but another reason could be that it sells more tickets. I'm sure there's some UNI fans that will be purchasing tickets and that just looks better for our wrestling program. Personally, this might be a great trend to make our sport more attractive. I'm excited to watch some of the UNI guys wrestle because they are local kids. Anything wrestling can do to get more ticket sales and larger crowds is a good thing IMO.
