One hour and 27 pages and no fat jokes! There were several pages of fat jokes when he was hired, yet none now! It's not like he died of diabetes or a heart attack people! Where is your gallows humor?!?!?!?
That, my friends, is who he is. I was glad to hear he's had some personal "reflection" in his time away from head coaching....I also knew some folks who knew him during the KU days....one's core character usually doesn't change.
Many on here are talking about a "rift" that's been around since day one...let's remember..."coach speak" and such is how this all works. It's part of the game to send MM out to the reporters and he knows what to say...and CPR has to publically say nice things...and Cyclones.tv will run a story about how great MM is, etc...that's how it works. You'll never see a "fall football preview" show that is 100% honest and such...that's sports.

You obviously missed the discussion about not being able to throw Mangino under the bus.
Our offense sucked with Mangino. Our offense sucked with Messingham. Our offense sucked with Herman (who is widely respected, and about to be one of the most sought after young coaches in the game)...
At no point in the Rhoads era has our offense not sucked...this move shouldn't change anyone's opinion on whether Rhoads should get more time or not.

There is so much misinformation and speculation that could have been cleared up by actually watching the press conference instead of getting worked up over clippings. People could go watch it now but their opinions have already been formed.

Regardless of fault, blame or reason, we now have a disgruntled employee off of the ISU football staff. I ask this seriously and do not need any snarky replies, but do we have to worry about our signals and play calls being tipped to our future opponents? Opinions?
The very predictable next thing to happen: someone resurrects the thread about Mangino's hiring so the people who were enthusiastic about it can be mocked and the people who were skeptical can say "I told you so".

or maybe he didn't seem too impressed because mangino told him he was starting Sam. Maybe Rhoads was letting his Oc do his job until today. We don't know.
