I think we have been on his list for a while. I saw some highlight clips of his when I was checking out Colvin (they play on the same HS team) he looks like a pretty good player, just nothing to get too excited about. Just my opinion.

What about MJ making several visits to Hilton? Could you imagine how loud it would get in there if Marcus came into the game? ESPN!

This sounds like a Jamie Pollard move :notworthy:

Cross Marcus off your list. We don't recruit for publicity.

Not all that interested either. He sounds like a back up plan if we didn't get Colvin...but we did.

Maybe Hornacek should talk to him about walking on. He might have some sway being a former NBA player and all.

It's STUPID not to recruit him. Look at Illinois. MJ comes there about 5-8 times a year to watch his son, Jeff. It's cool for the students and the fans, it gets them on ESPN, and Jeff is not a bad player for the Illini. And by all accounts, Jeff is not as good of a player as Marcus is. I don't know why you wouldn't want this guy. Any help we can get to get on the national map is a good thing.

We wouldnt need help getting on the national map if we start winning. I personally dont want to be getting a ton of exposure in the rebuild process with all of the bumps n bruises. If Marcus is good, I think we should keep at him. If he isnt something we need at the moment, I dont want to use him for his fathers handouts. Seems wrong to me.

I think winning some games will have a more positive effect on the program than MJ sitting in the stands a half dozen times a year.

I don't even know where to start with this line of thinking.

I'll second that. We need the kind of publicity involved with winning ball games. I couldn't care less if MJ ever steps foot into Hilton or donates 1$ to our program. I want the players our coaching staff feel give us the best shot of competing in the Big 12. If Marcus is one of them because of his skill set, so be it.

Here is an idea, we can pick up Marcus Jordan and get rid of Charles Boozer, because we would all much rather see MJ at a game than Carlos Boozer. This is an easy decision...I just don't understand why McDermott won't pull the trigger on this one.

Or

We could pick up Marcus Jordan and get rid of Sean Haluska. This creates a situation in which there is no reason for Adam Haluska to come to an Iowa State game, and we could theoretically have Carlos Boozer and Michael Jordan at the same game.

Or

We could recruit Jack Nicholson's 17 year old son Raymond to take the scholly set aside for HB , creating a potential situation where MJ, Carlos Boozer would be in attendance with Jack Nicholson sitting in the front row with his shades on, and have left 0 chance of Adam Haluska coming to a game.

In all reality, we have been so bad lately we need to recruit people who can play. If this kid is better than other people on our radar, pick him up. If not, let him (and his father) go somewhere else.

I'm pretty sure you're joking.... right? :jimlad:
