No excuse for Smart's reaction. But the old dude who apparently is fond of flipping the bird and taunting Red Raider opponents clearly did/said something to get that kind of reaction. Not to mention his first reaction once Smart confronts him is to say, "Sorry about that..." and then his ****-eating grin after Smart gets T'd up. If he did say something racial, I'm guessing his days of sitting in those seats are numbered.

Orange Power is saying the radio guys said the guy said the N word.
Would not shock me. Seems to me like it would take something special to make a guy snap like that, I'm sure Smart has heard his fair share of trash talk.

Marcus, skip the NBA and go straight to plane ride with Dennis Rodman to go see Kim Jung Ugh. This whole episode and the evolving excuses are freaking pathetic.

Smart fouled a player going up for a dunk and ended up sitting on the floor right in front of the first row of seating behind the basket.

That's interesting no one tried to get in between the fan and him when they were so close to each other. Usually stadium security has someone making sure that interaction does not happen ala Ron Artest. Maybe they only do that in the NBA or in professional sports.

Change the title....he did NOT hit a fan...he SHOVED a fan. BIG difference!

Exactly. And, he did not "go into" the stands to engage fan. he has already there due to fall after play. I swear some posters should be members of the media they way they sensationalize things.

It must have been something pretty objectionable as Smart got up in his face quickly and the guy couldn't apologize fast enough. Still inexcusable.
Bet he didn't expect Smart to be up in his face when he said whatever he said, hope they sell Red Raider pants at the gift shot.

Not sure what the fan said, but I would have bet money that the story is he said the N word. Wouldn't have that issue in Hilton as the crowd will be to loud to hear a fan say that in the same situation.

Big 12 is clearly the center of the college basketball world now. Both because KU, ISU, Texas, OU and KSU, but also because of how Baylor and OK State started off the year with such expectations and predictably are tanking it.

I've been watching Sportscenter U and it took like a half hour to talk about anything but Big 12.
