"constant ridicule" - what he said was: ISU wanted to interview a coach from Buffalo and he wouldn't talk to us. Granted he did repeat it many times - BUT - who here hasn't? When I heard Gill didn't want to even talk with JP it was a reality check for me. What about you?

It seems more of a bad timing issue than anything else according to Gill's attorney/agent who said after a couple weeks of interviews Gill basically will wait until next year to weigh his options. Marty and Miller sounded like a couple of dopes discussing this topic. Like ISU offered him millions and he turned them down. How do we know Gill is even at the top of the list of candidates? It appears the message board posters are the ones pushing him. I'm sure he's a great guy, but it seems presumptuous to think he is the top candidate when no one has yet to be interviewed.:skeptical:
His agent thought JP spoke with someone in the Buffalo AD. He wasn't even sure. Since you know JP's choice list who is #2?
I don't claim to know "the list." However, if you don't think JP tried to contact Gill, you are flat out nuts and in denial. The bottom line is - he wouldn't even talk to us. That is what Marty is saying and that is what has all of you so ticked off. It stinks, it hurts, and we don't like it so we are going to take it out on him instead of nutting up.
We heard Brewster turned down the job last time and that wasn't true. For all I know JP made a top 10 list with Gill at #10 and he called all 10 today.
Maybe Gill doesn't want to talk to us.......right now. I'm betting that if Buffalo had already played their Bowl game he would. It would be kind of hard to turn down a $700,000 pay increase.
True, the agent said he thinks we called the AD, the beat writer had no clue. Maybe we did call the AD and Jamie, being burned himself, had sympathy... Like I said before though, by the end of the interview the agent was trying to sell Gill... My gut tells me he is interested...
lets see... turner's due to make about $260,000 next year before incentives so lets just go with $300,000 he will make next year. Chizik made $1,125,000 a year and with all the money we have raked in the last 2 year i bet you Gill would be staring a $1 million or more pay raise right in the face... and could say no

We heard that Brewster turned down the job two years ago. It was supposedly a "known fact" just like we are to believe the Gill talk. It's exactly like the rumors that JP wanted to talk to Gill. You are so sure Gill has been talked to. The only thing I've heard is the agent Mooney say he wasn't called by JP and that JP might have talked to someone in the AD. The Buffalo sports writer knew nothing of JP calling anyone.
