F4 was solid. My favorite MCU film since GotG Vol. 3. This is what happens when you inject heart and emotion into your movies, Marvel!

I imagine the biggest complaints will be that the plot doesn’t tie into the main MCU timeline, and is only inferred via the mid-credits scene… and then there’s the whole baby Franklin reviving Sue. But if you know Franklin at all from the comics, him being able to do that is very much in line with his abilities. I thought it was a super touching moment.

I’m thinking that Doom will kidnap Franklin and will either take him to Earth-616 or Franklin will send both of them through the multiverse to get there, and then part of Doomsday will be the F4 chasing after them.

Heading to Fantastic 4 tonight with my daughter. Been a while since I've been looking forward this much to seeing an MCU movie. Really hope it doesn't disappoint.

I loved it. I thought there was a ton of heart and emotion injected into Wakanda Forever, GOTG3, and even Deadpool and Wolverine (the ending sequence with the Madonna overlay is chilling/fantastic for a comic book nerd - a proper summer blockbuster). FF took it to another level. Having 3 young kids, including an 8 month old, knowing what a superhuman my wife is - the ending sequence is one of the most emotionally cool things I've ever seen in a comic book movie. Maybe the most. That was just so, so badass. Kirby's primary portayal was perfect.

I've seen some complaints that the movie did not cover other backstories of the characters. My only reaction to that is...is it OK if we, ya know, get that in FF2? For example, lets expand on Ben in the next one. It's fine! He will get fleshed out. There was absolutely no reason to cram more sh*t into this one. It was tidy and purposeful. I had absolutely no issue instantly believing this crew of 4 were a tight family with deep bonds that already have been using and practicing their powers for 4,+ years.

I think they alluded to enough backstory through the anniversary shows, but also through the small moments and looks characters gave each other. Sure, some of it requires a little bit of deeper knowledge of the characters, but you still catch the significance without it. When Sue names the baby, Johnny gives her a knowing look and then she later explains about their dad. Ben's Jewish heritage and Yancy Street got plenty of play in a movie that clocked in under 2 hours.

Totally believable that this was a family not just a team. The dinner scenes, the reactions to the pregnancy, Reed's guilt, Ben's forgiveness of that guilt, the willingness to "lay on the wire" as Steve Rogers put it without a second thought, and not taking the easy way out knowing the calculus says it absolutely should be the call.

I appreciate not making Johnny just a one-note playboy type character. His tenacity in solving the language problem gave his some greater depth than just being the fire guy women think is hot.

Yes, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm was a great casting choice and she nailed it. Their dynamic also reminds me a lot of my wife and I... Reed's struggles between his logic and emotions was something that surprised me in the way I could identify with him. He loves his family first and foremost... and the way that he defiantly told Galactus that he's not taking his newborn really choked me up in what was otherwise a very tense scene. But then Sue later admonishes him because she knew him well enough to know that he had actually considering doing the unthinkable. "I think of all the possible bad things that could happen so that they don't happen!" I probably butchered the quote, but that was the gist.

I doubt Riri or [Bad guy] are "side characters" anymore, as the show - IMHO - clearly establishes they are important to this next phase.

They have to stop doing this. Ironheart and other characters from these MCU shows nobody is watching cannot become important parts of the movies. It’s hurting the overall product a lot.

For the record I saw FF and I really enjoyed it. If I’m being honest I liked it more than Superman which is a movie I honestly had a lot of fun with.
