The owners plunked down a stupid amount of money for the Field and adjacent ground. This has been expected for some time, investors want a return on their money. I'm not saying it will work out, I personally wish they left it just as it was in '88, but Frank Thomas didn't buy it for it's potential corn yields.

I hope they keep MLB games coming back each year. Sure none may hit like the first one but being an annual stop on the MLB calendar would be sick.

Yeah...that first one...wow...I am a White Sox fan so it had a ton of sentimentality to it...until the top of the 9th crushed me (damn Liam Hendricks)...and then the bottom of the 9th restored my love for baseball! LOL! That was a great game for sure! Not sure MLB could have drawn it up better!

The 1989 fictitious movie will eventually stop drawing people to the site, no matter how awesome the movie/book is. This a great infrastructure play for those rural communities.

I literally hate both the Sox and Yankees. And I found that game to be one of the most awesome baseball games I have ever watched in my entire life.

You seem to care an awful lot for someone who doesn't care.

Before this thread posted, when was the last time you thought about the Field of Dreams? I'm willing to bet it's been awhile, at least to back when the Yankees game was all over the news last summer. And then prior to that, I'm guessing you hadn't thought about the Field of Dreams for years. So why does this bother you so much? The field from the film, the farmhouse, the bleachers, the yard, are all still there, intact.

I don’t care…. I’m totally indifferent. Don’t care if it’s a success or fails miserably.

I know that I’ll never go there again. If I want to just see some youth baseball diamonds I have a ton in the CR area I can go see. Field of Dreams will be nothing special anymore to visit.
