MT is playing at an all big 12 caliber right now..like a 2nd team all conf player does and when u couple that with (2) first team players it makes for one hell of a run right now. It was so critical that he upped his game with Naz being out.

I was going to post after the game that I thought MT was the MVP of the game. Obviously Niang probably had the best game, but I thought MT hit the biggest shots when we needed them the most.

Every time ALR went on a little run, MT would hit a 3 to stop it it seemed like. Great game by him.

How could ISU NOT be a Tourney team next season with Thomas and Long in the same backcourt? Please come back Monte. Next year could be fun.

Besides Matt's shot, I thought he looked really confident and stepped up as a play maker yesterday. He seemed to want the ball against the press late in the game when ALR had a shot at making it a game again. If Niang wasn't playing at such a high level right now, I feel like Thomas could carry us a while on offense.

And Babb and J. Long.

The best part about all of these guys next year is that practice should be competitive for them. It probably hasn't been all that competitive in practice since McKay and Nader were sitting out. It will be good to actually have 5 forwards and Burton to be able to compete and make each other better

Clicking on all cylinders right now. Really enjoying the ride. We have a ton of talent on this team. Here's to one more game.

I think Burton would come off the bench and a young post would play the 4. That's too small of a starting lineup IMO.

The only other guy that would start over Burton would be Bowie. Otherwise, you gotta play your best 5 and Burton can still be a good post player despite only being 6'4

Matt Thomas played great. In fact the whole starting lineup did great. Nader played within himself and did not force as many shots. Impressed that he let the game come to him. Niang is playing lights out right now. Now if McKay could just make a Free Throw. His shot doesn't look that bad, they just do not go in.

When they showed free throws from behind, he could see how terribly McKay was shooting to the left of the rim. He wasn't on line at all.

If Monte stays, I'm guessing we'll have a small lineup
Morris
Thomas
Long
Burton
Malou

If we do this we are going to need to play faster than ever. We will have to force other bigs to run with us or this lineup won't work.

I thinking Jackson may start for Naz to reduce the grind of extended minutes on the hip.
Getting a dozen points in 20 minutes/game would be as good as any 6th man in the country.

I don't see Jackson starting next year unless monte is gone. If they want to limit naz's minutes bowie will probably start. With all of the guards that We have even if it doesn't start we will go to small lineups throughout a game

CW said he thought Jackson could be our leading scorer if MM doesn't return.

My guess is our bench could look something like this;

Naz 20 minutes behind Morris and Jackson
Long, Cooke or Babb competing for 10 minutes behind Thomas
Burton 15-20 then Young, Carter and Ernst fighting for up to 10 behind Malou and Bowie
