He was laughing about the news and stepping on John Walters' lines. A good host won't let it go that way. I wouldn't care if the guest came on and insulted his mother, a good host will manage that situation, and Walters merely made a statement of opinion: that Matt has an agenda against Pollard, and he allowed himself to get incredibly defensive and unprofessional about it.

All Matt had to do was say, "Yeah, heh heh, I guess so" and stop interrupting, and it would have been no big deal. In the end, John saved him.

that last post was Matt Perrault - me...sorry Jon! didn't see who was logged in...

And...that fight with my ex-GF happened a LONG time ago. Let's keep hammering me for Fred - deal?

Nope, not a deal. That was a pretty classless move. Haven't sports personalities gotten fired for less than that?

Remember the old SNL skit in which Dan Akroyd played the radio talk show host who could not get anyone to call his radio show? He finally talks about how he likes dead mangled puppies and stomping on baby chicks in an effort to get calls. Perrault does the same thing, he says things to get people to call his show. His job is to get ratings, and if being shrill and obnoxious is what it takes, he does that well.

big news in central iowa and you are interviewing doug McD about creighton? pimp your website some why don't you?

It wasn't done for Creighton...Doug's story was a big one and we bumped him yesterday off the show. We rebooked it yesterday right as the ISU coaching news broke.

UNI fans are still pretty upset that he is going to Creighton. I've got an interview with Greg to air tomorrow that is Iowa State...the crossover in this situation hasn't been ideal for me. I work in Des Moines radio but my side business is just that - on the side.

Well, you're just the very model of integrity, aren't you? Quick question, when you look in the mirror, do you picture yourself with a crown or a halo?

Hello? Your side business is not on the side if you are doing it on what should be your primary work-the radio show. How is Dougs story that big anyway? Are people shocked by this? No, they shouldn't be anyway. Fred Hoiberg is a much, much bigger deal than Doug switch MVC schools. Hell, the possibility of Ham and Colvin coming back was a bigger story. I have to wonder if you would interview Mac if he was going to any other school in the MVC or other mid-major conference. I really doubt it. I don't care if you do your Creighton junk on the radio, I don't listen unless CW is on. Just don't come on here and feed people BS about it not being done, in part, because it is Creighton. I don't buy it.

Also, a response on the Pollard email would be nice.

A response to what? I don't know what you are talking about?

Chris was on today. As was Gary Parrish. As was Ken and David Kaplan. All talking about the hire...as was the new coach's interview from earlier. So you are mad that for 6 minutes we talked to Doug about a story that involved UNI fans? Come on. Now you are just going overboard. Ken and I had Doug on multiple times this year.

OK, maybe a little overboard on that but I still don't think Mac is on tomorrow if he is going to another MVC school.

As for the response, check your messages it should be in there.

the Mac interview was done on Tuesday after the press conference. one on one. I would have conducted that interview, if available....we don't talk much about CU at all. I did two separate interviews with him.

BTW Matt...Parrish's comparison to Palin was horrible. Palin had like 4 years experience in politics. Fred has been in basketball at every level and throughout his entire life.

Fail by you to say he was right.

If you guys don't care for Matt then don't listen. All of this chirping is hilarious.
