Naz is a really good player but MT is playing great right now! Grumble grumble...

Matt Thomas needs to start to prevent these slow starts... grumble... Why are we starting a guy that only played 8 minutes and scored 0 points... grumble grumble grumble...

Fred doesn't know what he is doing!

Obvious implied jimlad for your post, but as one of the people who felt that Naz should have been starting over MT a month ago, I don't mind writing that I feel that MT has more than earned back his place in the starting five.

Or maybe Fred knows that Matt plays better coming off the bench?

I didn't see a point to all of the Thomas sucks threads either, but two wrongs don't make a right. Let's quit beating on our players no matter who they are.
Yes, this thread was making fun of the other thread.
MM should start. Actually, **** it, let's start four guys.
After looking at the box score, MM played 35 minutes, more than anyone else besides Georges. So he came in after two minutes in the first half and played until halftime and then came in after three minutes in the second half and played the rest of the game? Wow

Not sure on the exact stat, but I would guess that he had a very good +/-, which we all agree is a great stat for determining these things.

It's obvious that at this point, we don't have a "starter" caliber shooting guard on this squad. We have Naz and Thomas, who would be role players on most of the teams in front of us in this league. Thomas has a higher upside than Naz, IMO and will develop into a "starter". Hopefully it's next year that he breaks through, rather than his JR year.

IMO Kane is that "starter" caliber shooting guard and MM is a starter caliber point guard

I've never cared much about starting lineups. You just give the most minutes to your best players. Especially late in close games.

Still waiting for that fifth shooter/starter to show up. Naz is missing. Matt missed couple key ones in second half. Monte missed a couple. Saw SDW for a minute. When will we see Bubu move into the game and shoot threes?

Morris would be my pick, but I wouldn't complain about Thomas getting his spot back, with as well as he's been playing lately.

Somewhere in the U.S.
I wouldn't jump so quickly to this conclusion, and I have been one to support MT. However, I think the evidence so far shows that he may be more comfortable coming off the bench in his first year. Maybe it just takes some pressure off him, and it allows him to relax and just shoot.

The same thing may be true for Naz. He seems to be in a bit of a shooting funk right now, and maybe he is just putting too much pressure on himself to perform and keep the starting role. Who knows?

At this point, if there is going to be another change.....I think the best would be to start Monte. He played 35 minutes last night, as a freshman, first time in Phog Allen, big game....and did not commit a turnover. Who does that? Granted he did not score a lot of points, but I think that is more because he is more of a true point guard. He plays good defense, and had 3 steals last night. I would love to seem him have a start this Saturday at home and just see what happens.
