Thomas had a couple strong games from 3 during the AAU season when many of the recruiting services were present, including one where he hit 9 straight, or something similar. Thoe performances took him from Top 80-100 to 50-75. In hindsight, those games were probably a fluke. He's still a solid Big 12 player, but the recruiting services whiffed on their evaluation. Consider me Team Thomas. I like his game, even if it wasn't what we thought it was going to be.

To me, Hallice Cooke, the backup PG, looked really really good. He has the ability to alter his shots. He plays smart. He is focused.
I don't disagree and have been pleased with what I have seen. I only bring up Hallice as several people here anointed him as a "starter this year, possibly over Naz and Nader", as well as SO much better than Thomas, while most had never seen him play and are just stat line commentators.

I do think he should be our backup PG, although it appears Naz has been the main backup so far, with mixed results at best..

I like what Matt has been doing with his game, especially using the 3 point shot to set up other moves to get him going to the rim.

He works hard and is playing a good role on our team. Hopefully his shooting is more consistent this year and he has a great season.

I am glad that Matt is a Cyclone!

I'm starting to become convinced that half of you don't really follow basketball.

Matt is playing well enough to be considered a sixth starter on the #7 team in the country. The game looked ugly late because that's what always happens when the deep bench gets in. No one was moving at all.

What do you expect when there are multiple threads that are rendering judgement on the viability of Carter and Ernst based on 7 minutes of game time as Freshman in a 40 point blowout?

Color me not impressed. He had an OK game against one of the worst teams in college basketball. His shot still isn't what anyone thought it would be coming in. Definitely still in wait and see mode, we should finally know what we have with Matt by the middle of Big 12 season.
He hit 2-4 threes. Was Naz's 1-7 more impressive?
