These folks aren't built like the rest of us. Saw one of the top investment dudes with a bed in his office. The drive these people have in their chosen field is unreal and doesn't make sense to a lot of us.

I'm driven to retire before AI and robots **** everything up. That's about it from a professional level now.

I had a boss like this. Not sleeping at the office but had to put in 14-16 hour days and let everyone know that he did. Took me about a month to realize how inefficient and slow with every project he was. He easily could have had all his work done in a normal day and met his deadlines.

Personally I think most parents put plenty of focus on their own personal well-being AND careers and too little with actual parenting. I think there's been an epidemic of the "I have to focus on myself in order to be the best parent I can," which seems to mean maxing out time the kids are at daycare, babysitters and grandparents so these parents can live like they still don't have kids.

That's America. We value work and money over everything.
